On the one hand, I think the Japanese man who married Hatsune Miku all those years ago is cringe; not because he married a fictional character (or voicebank avatar, or… whatever Miku would be considered? I actually have respect for him, that he didn't let anyone stand in his way), but because he is quite literally expressing his emotional loyalty and attachment to the product of a corporation; a product he has no doubt spent a lot of money on and will continue to until the cold hand of death seizes him. (There are definite issues with overconsumption here.)
On the other hand, it is Miku. So. I mean, I get it. And this was long before the AI waifu boom, so it's more honorable than what's going on now.
On the foot, it's largely harmless (corp worship and overconsumption aside), and it doesn't directly affect me, so I don't care all that much.

People on this site will hold candlelight vigils and write several thousand note posts about white trans women who get their tumblr blog taken away for breaking TOS yet posts talking about trans men of color who were violently assaulted/murdered get buried within like a week. Transphobia website in more ways than people think.
