Hey, y'all, I'm in kind of a bind, and I could use some financial assistance.

I need $100.00 to pay off a bill by the beginning of next month. If you have anything to offer, I'd be grateful.

Thank you.

7/29/2026 - $20.00/$100.00

Thank you so much to those who donated so far.

7/31/2026 - $40.00/$100.00

Total so far - $60.00/$100.00

Again, thank you so much to everyone helping me out. I am now just $40.00 short of $100 for my bill.

I'm of the mind that the heavy antiblackness of tvl IS somehow connected to the success of Sinners, but am I the only one?

Who else has theories about this and the rampant and open antiblackness of s3 that the writers are doubling down on...?

I didn't consider it at first, honestly. The IWTV/Sinners (Loustack) hype fizzled out so fast during the film's run (esp outside of Twitter), I couldn't imagine that it made that big of an impact outside of Black circles.

Anderson called the film a "religious experience" and listened to the interviewer talk about the film and first season's few similarities (the sibling relationships, Jim Crow-era politics and overt racism, etc.) outside of just the vampires. Anderson kind've suggests that a story similar to Sinners could exist in the TVC universe (IIRC).

As someone who has intentionally remained outside of the Anne Rice fanspace beyond lurking and reading discussions, learning that the writers/producers surveil the iwtv fanspace to be reactionary in their writing, means (for me) it's probably not outside the realm of possibility.

Especially if we're talking about how the writers have ultimately sabotaged their own work on account of it becoming too closely tied to Black politics, criticism, or even other Black creatives (Coogler's Sinners).

If things in TVL feel like a reaction to Anderson and Hayles talking about their creative process (the Kitt-Jones influences in Anderson's performance as Louis, what Hayles thought Claudia wouldn't do when arguing with Louis (get into his face), the two of them choosing to reach out for reach other when Louis is pulled away from the stage)? Then IWTV and Sinners being favorably compared, fan art of Louis and Claudia visiting the Stack Bros. juke joint, would probably be enough to irritate these folks.
