We interrupt your 'Da Mangaka is not doing art' to bring you. . . ART.

This art is brought to you by your Taxes, probably. Honestly, not a bad deal if you ask me.

Actually no but there's a joke about that with this character.

I have had this idea for about 10+ years and given current events and what's happening around me it got me inspired to do something silly.

So, without further ado, I present to you all the city at the Corner of the World: Tijuana.

Yes... it is in fact related to my fabled fanfic Project Hetalia. No, I don't think I'll go 'three deep four me' levels of storytelling. Instead I just want to do funny bits, give out some cool facts about the city and who knows... maybe I will eventually release more of the main story.

In all honesty, I want to focus more on 'One Shot from the Void' and another project long due but if this gets me drawing more frequently, then so be it.

After a long time of planning, I can finally post these pictures.

These are designs that I worked for a project in Santuario Streamer called "Santuario Virtual Wrestling" or SVW for short.

Basically, a universe where the crew are part of this grandiose wrestling company and go about it as you would expect from wrestling plots such as throwing up your former tag team companion from a cage match, stealing the LatinAmerican title even though you are Spanish and basically being the unstoppable - yet not unbreakable - wall people punch at because they can.

Oh and, possibly, a spirit from beyond the multiverse that slams down cocky managers that jump into the ring with an open challenge.

To see the saga so far, you can check the playlist below. I will say, it is in Spanish but Youtube auto-translate does a pretty good job at providing subtitles even though wrestling is it's own universal language.

Before this I wasn't really into the thing but now, I'm picking up new lore that could be useful for the developing of my own fighter.

When you thought it would be easy peasy lemon squeezy but it turns out to be difficult difficult lemon difficult.

Wait that’s actually really good, gonna pop this out of the tags

… I dont remember this version of the citrus scale

We in Mexico call "Hard Lime Difficult time" Taquero Limes.

The kind of lime that requires a Hydraulic press to squeeze and would only produce 1 milligram of lime limón and you goddam be grateful for it because limón may be hard to get right now and your local tacoman was kind enough to give you this instead of oranges.

May I bring to your attention a bunch of sketches of an alien race I am developing for a Quest?

These creatures inhabit a planet about 3/4 the size of Earth which rotates around a red dwarf.

There are two main strains and this is one of them. Or rather concepts of them: I can't really call this design a finished concept.

It all started because I wanted to describe a character's clothing in detail and based on the idea I have for them - lizard people with the shells of either armadillos or pangolins - I couldn't figure how clothes would work on them.

Basically, my problem could he summarized as follows:

"So, uh, how do they wear shirts if they have a shell on their back?"

I still don't know but the idea is to figure it out.

I'll probably throw more pics of these guys because they are fun to draw.

Here's the part 2 I had promised you about ~

As I said in my previous post, I was just working on the 2nd set of the Pride Panaderia.

So here it is! They are 12 in total just like before.

You can check the full description and info of each bread in their Alt box or image description.

Enjoy ~

Since the flag design/colors tend to have a bit more of an overlap with this section, I've added the list of what is featured. I'll probably update the original post to list what the breads are meant to be.

  • Demisexual Cortadillo
  • Demiboy Pay de Mora
  • Demigirl Pay de Fresa
  • Demigender Pay de Lima
  • Polysexual Gragea
  • Omnisexual Cuernito
  • Genderflux Tortillas
  • Bigender Chocoflan
  • Maverique Torta de Nata
  • Agender Mochi
  • Polyamorous Fruit Tart
  • Rosca de Drag Queen
It is never out of season to post something pride related. For more details about the breads themselves, check the 'ALT TAG' / Image description.

Introducing to you the Pride Panadería - or Panaderia Orgullo as I call in in Spanish.

I started this project around 2023 and it's been fun combining the aspects of the pride flags and symbols with something I grew up with. While my country has become more adjusted - not necessarily accepting - of the concept of Queer people, I am aware that there are still too many that would prefer to keep it for themselves or are not ready to come out, so I also created these designs with that in mind.

I have been selling them as stickers and pins at my local conventions and it's funny to see people approach my booth, point out and go "omg, I'm a churro". It's also fun to see older people point at the designs with glee at how lovely or cute they look without 0 idea of what the bread colors are supposed to be and buying them because Mexican bread.

In case you are wondering: they are 13 images in this batch because of the rule of 'buy 12 and get 1 free' that some bakeries may do.

Apologies for the weird artifacts and watercolors on the images though: given the current state of art in social media - with AI scraping everything - I've taken some measure of precaution. I will say that for the most part the integrity of the images presented looks nice so, I'm glad.

This is, by the way, batch 1. I have just finished batch 2 and it includes more breads and flags but since I don't want to flood a Tumblr post with too many images, I've decided to split them.

Feel free to share, assign a bread to yourself or contact me if you wish a free bread icon for your social media : )

! Update - I'm adding a list for the bread listed on this post for easy access.

  • LGBT Concha
  • Lesbian Beso
  • Gay Corneta
  • Bisexual Churros
  • Pansexual Panqué
  • Asexual Donut
  • Transexual Empanada
  • Non-Binary Manteconcha
  • Genderfluid Niño Envuelto

Post 2 is up with more bread : D

And so, Da Mangaka woke up and realized it was Monday.

-Fucking hell. . . - They exclaimed.

I swear. . .I'm going to try to be more consistent in uploading things.

It's a bit of a strange mixture of anxiety and "I need to glaze my images before I upload in the possible case AI gets interested in my stuff to scrub it"

Add to that some real life challenges and you get very infrequent posts.

So, apologies for that.

But things are looking up better now.

Let this post be a reminder that even if things look tough, you can still make it.
