Man, revenge is underrated!

@astralphobia

Hey guys! You can call me Seren! I go by They/Them and I'm an artist and a writer! I struggle with procrastination, though, so I won't post often!

Soft-launching my beloved little freak on tumblr

Their name is Scape, they use he/they and theyre a dipper variant thats trapped in the mindscape!! They are very familiar with the horrors :]

I dont have a proper ref for them yet which why ive put off posting them but i draw them an INSANE amount so. I might as well start before too many drawings pile up and i end up never postign them at all.

Hey we used to talk on discord a lot (and luckily are still moots) but I wanted you to know sometimes I think abt Scape and scroll through your blog looking for them. Your pet freak (/affectionate)

HI!!

its so nice to hear that other people are interested in them,, sometimes i fear i am the only one who cares but i am often proven wrong !! I can guarantee that theyve changed since we last talked ab them, and if you’re still curious feel free to send asks ab them to my inbox!!

i was actually just about to make a post begging for asks ab them lmao,, oughghg i yearn to talk ab them but i fear i have the vampirism(cannot talk unless i am invited to)

heres a littke doodle of them!! My pet freak….

in the middle of crying for no reason i was interrupted by the sounds of one of my neighbors blasting "shadow the hedgehog pissed on my fucking wife" so loud it echoed around the courtyard outside

hey, doing character design is hard. writing descriptions is so much easier. who's the clown who came up with the concept of visual art, i wanna give 'em a piece of my mind

i am attempting to make a character

physically make a character. spiritually i have already made the character. it has a soul, it just doesn't have a face.

the goal:

"shadow with no discernible features except maybe two facial features" is harder than you'd think

an array of doodles I've done while trying to come up with a design that satisfies me

i don't particularly feel like any of them are on the right track but i dislike some less than others.

Do you need somthing stringer and more angular perhap?

hm. Probably more angular, definitely sharper. The squiggly/blurry ones can be for special occasions. DEFINITELY more humanoid, i'm shooting for "child-friendly shadow person from a game/cartoon for kids" character design

i mentioned this in the comments but the vibe I'm aiming for is endgame final boss battle enemy, as translated through the eyes of an infatuated level 1 mook who thinks the boss is adorable.

2 more guys would like to make your aquaintance

i wanna take the lil guy on the right home and stick him in a bunch of plushies like ET.

@prehistoricsilverfish I agree. my plan is to only give it eyes most of the time. it only gets a mouth on special occasions (LOLing, angry roaring so as to menace the object of its ire with fangs, etc).

potential additions since last night

I told a discord bud I'm shooting for vintage halloween jack-o-lantern level face and then i went hey i made a cool looking jack-o-lantern a couple years ago lemme recycle that design.

and i think the triangle face is closer to the vibe i want than the circle or vague block. kinda got nos-4-a2 vibes now

only focused on the face here, body's still a generic whatever. i think it'd look better if the eyes were shrunken a bit. mouth's still only for special occasions.

if you dont mind i’d like to pitch in with a thought!!

Instead of needing two eyes and leaving empty space for the mouth to occasionally appear, they could occupy the same space, and switch between depending on how you want it to look!! Excuse the terrible sketch but i hope it gets the concept across- kind of like some of the roaring knight’s sprites from deltarune !!

i'm kinda vibing with them switching out, but it'd most likely be switching between "eyes in the eye place + an empty mouth place" ←→ "mouth in the mouth place + an empty eyes place," not taking up the whole face and/or transforming into each other.

i think the design inspiration collage i slapped down didn't convey how human a design im going for here. now i appreciate a good abstract creature with no relation to human anatomy as much as the next monsterfucker. i'm in the "pyramid head is too conventionally attractive to be a 'hear me out'" camp. but that's not the current design objective. everyone's gotta think like 20% more normie.

also if i gave it an eyemouth kind of like the roaring knight from deltarune this character will foreverafter be viewed as That OC With The Face Like The Roaring Knight From Deltarune

thats completely fair lmao, i didnt know you were going for something more normal looking !,

good luck on figuring it out though!! I like the star shape, feels very silly cartoon villain that isnt actually intimidating, just looks spooky-adjacent
