Self-management and control agreements on international students adopted by Minister
20th August 2026Universities of the Netherlands (UNL), the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences (VH), and Cabinet Minister Letschert of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) have reached administrative agreements regarding international students. This officially establishes the previously agreed-upon arrangements regarding self-management and control by the universities.

Practical barriers stand in the way of national prosecution of international crimes
20th August 2026It is not prosecutorial policy or political intervention, but primarily the presence of diaspora and practical obstacles that determine who ultimately appears before a Dutch court for international crimes.

No trains to or from Tilburg University station from July 28 to August 8
28th July 2026Due to railway maintenance, no trains will run between Breda and Tilburg from Tuesday, July 28 through Saturday, August 8. As a result, Tilburg University station will not be accessible by train during this period.

In Memoriam: Professor Ben van der Genugten
20th July 2026It is with deep sadness that we have learned of the passing of Professor Ben van der Genugten, Professor Emeritus of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics at Tilburg University. Ben passed away on July 15 at the age of 82.

NWO awards €3.5 million for the expansion and modernisation of the LISS panel
13th July 2026The Dutch Research Council (NWO) has awarded €3.5 million to the Deepfield project, a collaboration between ODISSEI, Centerdata and the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI).
