Did you know the Indiana Department of Homeland Security inspects every amusement ride in Indiana? That means every theme park, county fair and festival ride gets checked before opening to the public each season. Inspectors travel across the state making sure rides are safe before you ever step on them, and yes… sometimes that means testing them by riding them.😄

Applications are now open for the IDHS Residential Safe Room Program.

This program offers a rebate for installing a prefabricated safe room in your home, helping protect you and your family during severe weather like tornadoes. IDHS will randomly select 50 applicants, with approved homeowners eligible for reimbursement of 75% of installation costs (up to $5,000).

The application period is open through April 15.
