It’s a detail but; Elon Musk doesn’t have a trillion dollars. He has shares that theoretically hold that value. But the basis on why those shares are worth that is very shaky, and if he would try to convert those shares to cash the actual value would be significantly lower.
And it wouldn’t matter if the threat was serious, a bargaining tactic, or just hyperbole. None of those defenses would work if you threatened a politician.
