Somewhere deep within China, millions of years old and suspended above the earth in clouds and mist, lies the floating mountains that inspired Avatar.

A landscape so surreal it became part of UNESCO World Heritage site 武陵源 Wǔlíngyuán.

Heaven’s Gate 🪽

Carved naturally into the mountain over millions of years and somehow even more dramatic and questionable irl. Worth braving through fog, rain and 999 steps just to stand beneath Heaven’s Gate like this.

altho i didn’t manage to see everything but i had an amazing tea experience up at the peak!
