Prices of construction services up again
Compared to the first quarter of 2026, construction services were on average 1.7% more expensive, while compared to a year ago prices went up by 8.6%.

Services producer prices up again
In the 2nd quarter of this year, services producer prices were higher at both levels – by 1.7% at the quarterly level and by 4.4% at the annual level.

More persons in employment in June, the number of foreign citizens among them continues to rise
In June, the number of persons in employment increased by 0.1% to 941,800. Their number grew in more than half of the sections of activities, most notably in accommodation and food service activities. The share of foreign citizens in employment (excluding farmers) rose to 16.5%.

Agricultural input prices down only month-on-month
Agricultural input prices slightly decreased at the monthly level, while they were up year-on-year and at the quarterly level. In the monthly comparison, the prices of energy and lubricants went down the most.

The value of construction put in place down monthly, up year-on-year
The value of construction put in place in June was 0.4% lower than in the previous month but 22.9% higher than a year ago.

GDP up 5.0% year-on-year
In the 2nd quarter of 2026, GDP grew by 5.0% year-on-year. From January to June of this year, compared to the same period of 2025, it went up by 4.1%.

Less traffic with passenger and goods vehicles
The number of new private cars registered for the first time increased by almost a third compared to last June. The Drenov Grič counter detected fewer passenger and goods vehicles. There were also fewer vehicles at road border crossings. In total, 299 ships were counted in Slovenian ports.

The value of purchased roundwood down
The total value of roundwood purchased from private forests in June decreased by 3.2% annually and by 30.6% in the monthly comparison.

Producer prices of agricultural products 6.9% lower year-on-year
Producer prices of agricultural products were 6.9% lower than in June last year, whereas the value of purchased agricultural products decreased by 1.9%.

In the 2nd quarter of 2026, fewer vacancies and lower job vacancy rate, number of occupied posts remains the same
In the 2nd quarter of 2026, 66.5% of all job vacancies were recorded at employers with 10 or more employees and 81.7% of all occupied posts. Compared to the previous quarter, the job vacancy rate went down by one-tenth of a percentage point.

June 2025 signalled a strong summer with high year-on-year growth in overnight stays booked via online platforms
Last year, 4.5 million guest nights spent in holiday and other short-stay accommodation in Slovenia were booked via one of the three major international online booking platforms. This was 14% more than in 2024.
