Come and see our library display on Edward Whymper, curated by two of our talented Polar Museum volunteers, Dora and Freya.
The display explores the development of Victorian Alpine exploration, the first successful ascent of the Matterhorn, and the history of wood engravings, illustrated through the work of Edward Whymper.
We are so excited to be able to show the public these beautiful wood engravings, as well as the printed books that Whymper wrote and brought to life with his artworks.
