I'm getting on a bit in years now and up until about ten years ago I'd never written anything other than emails and technical reports. But for years I'd had this idea for a fantasy story ticking about in the back of my head.
So eventually I put pen to paper (Yep, I'm that old) and eventually wrote and self published two fantasy books and a short story on Amazon. They didn't sell and I only got biased family and friends feedback - I loved the writing but hated and was crap at promoting my work. Anyway, I came across Royal Road because I subscribed to Michael J Sullivan's website and he'd recently put some of his work on RR. So bit by bit I released my first book (A Man Returned) here, and I've had more feedback in a few weeks than all those years on Amazon. Better still I'm now back writing again, and I love it. I've got a backlog of almost a dozen stories in various states of completion; all of which will eventually find their way onto Royal Road. Fame and riches would be great, but for now, and for ages to come, I really want your feedback. |
