Re: Do readers tend to come more easily once you have more chapters out?
biggest reason for waiting is, one of the first tihngs you learn here is, don't read stories untill there are either a bunch of chapters or been here a long time. Nothing sucks more then reading best (...)

Re: What's the dumbest thing that's cost you the most?
Signed a publishing contract for my book. Everything from that point was downhill. I can feel how painful reinstalling everything's gonna be for you. You have my condolences in that regard. :DrakanSigh:

Re: Do readers tend to come more easily once you have more chapters out?
I will reiterate what another author stated. You cannot do this organically. That ship sailed. You could have 5-6 years ago. It is now a completely, utterly, different game for new authors. It is (...)

Re: Do readers tend to come more easily once you have more chapters out?
I haven't reached that point, and RS isn't something I am aiming for, but I did a lot of research on it. Some readers won't touch your story until you've got 100k words or like you said, 40+ chapters. (...)

Re: Let's talk fantasy species!
In my culture, there are many mythical creatures, including ghouls, the woman who eats children, and many similar things that scare children into falling asleep quickly, haha. But the truth is, I love (...)

Re: Let's talk fantasy species!
The shockodile. It's a large crocodilian that is immune to electrical attacks and can shock its foes like electric eels before eating them alive. More powerful ones can also use full lightning attacks, (...)

Centaur. Hence why my protagonist of Those Bound To Ruin is one. Commissioned art I got from Jestereva https://i.imgur.com/aS1fmkZ.jpeg Ooh, centaurs are cool. And that's one very nice image. That's (...)

Re: Let's talk fantasy species!
My favorite species in my story are Shifters. They possess the abilities to shape change and read minds, but I've adjusted the way they do so to fit my setting and I'm really happy with how it works. (...)

Re: Let's talk fantasy species!
In my fantasy book, there's these things called "Tax Weasels". They are a species of weasel that is like a magpie or Dragon, they steal shiny, shiny things. They have a hoard, They can smell silver! (...)

Re: Let's talk fantasy species!
I'm a Star Trek fan, and I have a fondness for alien gals. Andorians, Orions, and Vulcans are some of my favorites. I'm also partial to the classic Tolkien inspired D&D species (Dwarves, Elves, etc). (...)

Re: In twenty words minimum, summarize what your story is about'~'.
"A butler dies and wakes up 300 years later, during an apocalypse, and discovers he is totally useless." Or for the other book: "A dragon is exiled to a magipunk city of mythical creatures that just (...)

Re: Without any context, what is happening in the chapter you're currently working on.
Well, in my currently active projects: A guy is processing dying over seventy times because of an error in time management. And in a different novel: A dragon, a vampire, and a witch are about to (...)

Let's talk fantasy species!
Or sci-fi too, of course. What are fictional species that you have fallen in love with? Doesn't have to be traditional fantasy stuff. Can be from your own novel too. Anything goes. Just share a bit. (...)

Re: I have a question that needs answers
You're not gonna like this, but readers are right. Most of the time, that is. We may have reasons for everything in our head, but if someone says it doesn't feel okay, then that remains the truth. I (...)

Re: How to make mundane interesting?
Honestly, I adore moments like these. The calm between action, where the characters can just interact and have fun. It's awesome. I can't really give advice as I am an absolute rookie when it comes (...)

Re: There is few days when you don't want to write. what do you do?
Honesty, I feel like there's a need to push oneself to write anyway. At least if one's serious about writing. I keep trying to imagine if I had it as a job. In that case, you can't really say you're not (...)

Made a cover for my new story.
