Yay! I love these!

So well technically not my MC, the best lines tend to come from his horse. Little context: the MC can read the horse's thoughts.

🌷🌷🌷

Little master dumb. Hands on ears.

“Thank you, Peanut,” I laughed, patting the nose hovering far too close to my face. Her nostrils flared blowing her warm breath across my face. “Are you trying to destroy the stables again?”

No.

“Of course she was,” Fern scolded,
pushing the horse aside to take a seat beside me. “Why do you think I let her out?”

How appropriate that your most iconic lines come from Peanut! I love it!

I'm going with a line that won't make any sense and isn't from the MC. But I feel it's quite iconic because though it's never actually defined for us, it's used throughout the story and becomes a popular catchphrase with a group of aliens despite the fact that nobody but Alum knows what it means.

Alum (an alien): "Bamchala in a Yooloo! Bamchala in a Yooloo!"

As a seasoned GM I've grown a large collection of lines that go harder than they have any right to.  One of my favorites is this:

"The Deep Ones have come to take our mountain!" Axer Stonebear shouted to the men and women under his command, embracing the hopelessness of this last stand against the oncoming tide. "Let us make sure they pay a fair price!"

Not sure if I have any iconic lines in Hordes and Homerooms yet.  It's a little early to tell.  But his students have some pretty kickass moments.

Oh god I have to look through the story of Edge of Freedom for a bit. But Bellamy has some of the hardest one liners in the series, even though he's the second member of the party. Norn's greatest lines are a bit more emotionally focused, but I don't think any hit as hard as the line that initiates his first combat.

👇"A Friend Like You" has 3 main characters, so here are some quotes from them that I particularly like:

Quote:
"Children, huh?" Kohana sighed. "If my paper figures gave them at least a little happiness, then please, let me live to protect Kosuzu-chan. Wait until she graduates and becomes an independent geiko and I promise you that then you'll be able to cut open my chest with your sword to find out what kind of monster lives inside me. God knows I'm dying to know the truth, too..."

Furukawa Kohana, Chapter 27, "Non-Humans".

Quote:
He smiled maliciously as Sanosuke blinked in clear confusion. "Don't attribute my threats to that supposed 'kindness' you project onto my undeserving person. I promise you my hand won't tremble if you corner me and I have to pierce Heisuke's chest to punish you for letting your tongue slip. Being as skilled as you are at navigating the turbulent waters that make up other people's spirits, you must be aware that I'm more than eager to turn him into pig feed."

Tani Sanjuro, Chapter 36, "The Crow and the Mouse".

Quote:
"But that's the problem with all of you... sometimes you're nice and sometimes you're not, it all depends on how much usefulness you find in outsiders to the Shinsengumi! Don't you realize that you operate like cogs in a machine designed to get your commander to the top of the shogunate and that you're willing to throw away anything that doesn't contribute to it?! Saito-san told me he'd even lost the ability to feel but he didn't care because that way he could be of better use to the Shinsengumi! Tell me Heisuke, are you really my friend or do you only talk to me because your stupid boss told you to?!"

Furukawa Chie, Chapter 18, "Mirage".

"Thank you… But this is not where I wish to stop." He smiled, feeling the back of his neck turn cold at the touch of that grim, fog-laden mass that was the man's face.
"This journey I undertook to help those who were dealt an ill hand, to find my family and my memories… And besides, NOIR is full of remarkable people. I do not wish to leave them, even if it shall cost me dearly."

And this one from the latest chapter.

"Yes, I'm scared. I don't know what to expect from tomorrow. I don't know if I'll ever be able to see my sister or find out the truth. I don't even know if I'll see tomorrow myself, or if I'll be the only one to see it. Frankly, the second one scares me the most."

"I don't think I'd be happy if tomorrow didn't have you too."

Quote:
“Go an’ take yer wee circus act back home, girl, ’fore somethin’ bad happens. To you or yer overgrown mongrel.”

The admonishment flustered her, but the last comment made her furious. She narrowed her eyes and spoke in a deceptively calm but sharp tone.

“Right after you go back into the bottle you crawled out of, you old tosser.”

Quote:"Just—if you'd bloody please? Before I redecorate using grenades."

Quote:
“I warned you once already,” she said in a low voice. “If this turns out to be another one of your Machiavellian rigmaroles, I will shoot you on the spot.”

“How eloquently put,” he said with feigned surprise. “Appropriately… hawkish. For you, that is.”

Her eyes narrowed. "For f*cking once, don't get clever."

He sighed. “Come now, love. What am I to make of all this bluster, then? That, for someone in your position, you can afford to damage our little arrangement?”

She leaned in, staring intently into his eyes.

"Irrevocably."

From Chapter 1 of The Crystalline initiative, from my MMC Amy:

Quote:Nah, f*** that. Crystal Guardian Amethyst wasn’t going out like no b****.

And for my MMC Elias:

Quote:“Motherf***ers forgot my missiles. Amethyst, see if you can find the OPFOR XO, and go for a decapitation strike. I’m going to see if I can throw hands with the kaiju, over.”
