Rehearsals starting September 2025, with show week running from February 24th – 28th 2026
Robin Oakapple, a simple farmer, has been working up the courage to ask the beautiful Rose Maybud for her hand, but he is hiding a secret – he is actually the Bad Baronet of Ruddigore! He has been hiding in disguise for years while his unwitting younger brother, Despard, assumed the title and the curse.
Revealed by his foster-brother, Richard, Robin must commit a crime every day in order to appease the title’s curse and the ghosts of his ancestors.
Robin wishes to continue his honest life, but how?
About The Players
Oundle Gilbert & Sullivan Players were formed in 1958 and have been entertaining audiences every year since! With two shows a year and various ad-hoc concerts, the Players offer something for everyone. Our calendar begins in February, when we perform one of the many famous comedy operettas, written by our namesakes. Our Summer Show then takes place at the end of June, with a variety of contemporary and vintage songs, from The Beatles to Abba and Bernstein to Webber!

Join us on stage…
Oundle G&S Players are a friendly, welcoming and social local amateur dramatics society. We rehearse for 10 months of the year, with a break over the Summer months, and pride ourselves on the quality of our performances. We have an active social life outside of rehearsals, with regular after rehearsal pub visits as well as various social gatherings across the year, from Summer BBQs to Christmas parties.
Rehearsals, beginning in late August, are Wednesdays at 7:30pm and then some Sundays from 7:00pm nearer to our show in February/March. We then go straight into rehearsal for our Summer Show on the first Wednesday in March, also at 7:30pm.

If you don’t sing, there are many other ways to get involved. Our Production Team focuses on stage construction, set painting, lighting, sound, props, wardrobe and make-up, while our Front of House team meet and greet our audiences, man the bar and are on hand to help with any first aid that may be required over our Show Week. Whatever your interest or skill, the opportunities are many and varied!
