Amplifying multiplex spatial profiling with tyramide oligonucleotides

Integrating different modalities and flexibly amplifying signals presents a major challenge for imaging-based spatial biology. We present protein and nucleic acid serial tyramide amplification (PASTA), which combines tyramide oligonucleotide conjugates with diverse assays for horseradish peroxidase readout to enable the seamless, flexible integration and amplification of multiple signals.

SynComs should be rigorously defined, not renamed

Koch et al. propose replacing “synthetic microbial communities (SynComs)” with “defined microbial communities”. We argue that this substitution obscures the design-driven logic of SynCom research, and that the field needs clearer conceptual classification rather than a broader renaming of SynComs.
