About TactiteHide

A calc-silicate rock formed by contact metasomatism of a carbonate or marly rock. A rock of complex mineralogical composition, formed by contact metamorphism and metasomatism of carbonate rocks. It is typically coarse-grained and mostly rich in calcic garnet, calcium-iron-rich pyroxene, vesuvianite, epidote, wollastonite, and scapolite. Approximate synonym: skarn.

Often mined for scheelite (tungsten ore), and less commonly as decorative dimension stone.
