Name(s) in local language(s):
Churprinz Friedrich August Erbstolln (Grube Churprinz; Grube Kurprinz), Großschirma, Revier Freiberg, Erzgebirge, Sachsen, Deutschland
Starting around 1700, grants were made to the Eigenlehner family, Christoph Böhme, and later Gottfried Richter. Their small mines, located on state land, later developed into the Churprinz Friedrich August Erbstolln mine. The most important ore veins in this mine were the Drei Prinzen Spat and the Ludwig Spat, which are western extensions of the Halsbrück Spat. In 1707, the mine was operated by the local ruler, later taken over by the state of Saxony, and was temporarily closed in 1900. After the Second World War, various shafts were reused in connection with mining in the Halsbrücke region until their closure in 1968.
The mine had three main shafts: the Schreiberschacht, the Wittigschacht, and the Jehmlichschacht. The site is now preserved as part of the UNESCO Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří World Heritage Mining Region.
