Who We Are

We’re Evan and Sam, siblings and co-founders of Making Waves FL—a student-led organization and South Florida volunteer network created to empower teens through community service.

What began during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic—when volunteer opportunities became nearly impossible to find—has grown into a movement built on purpose, leadership, and the power of giving back.

Our mission is simple: connect students with meaningful volunteer opportunities, help them earn service hours, and inspire them to make a real difference—together.

What We Do

At Making Waves FL, we help students take action in their communities by partnering with nonprofits across a variety of causes:
🌿 Environmental efforts like beach cleanups
🍱 Hunger relief and food drives
🏠 Homeless outreach and shelter support
🐾 Animal rescues and humane societies
🏅 Events with the Special Olympics
👟 Donation drives with organizations like In Jacob’s Shoes
… and many others

We organize events, recruit student volunteers, promote nonprofit missions through social media and blogs, and create leadership opportunities for teens who want to do more than just log hours—they want to make an impact.

We believe there is strength in numbers. By joining forces with other young volunteers and nonprofits who share our values, we’re proving that students have the power to lead, serve, and create lasting change.

Why It Matters

Service is more than checking a box. When students give back, they grow in confidence, compassion, and purpose. They discover their voice and their ability to shape the world around them.

What I Gained From My Internship at Make Our Schools Safe
