Get up close with the ponds at Eagle Marsh! Explore for frogs, insects, and dragonflies, and learn about their roles in the wetland ecosystem. This hands-on, family-friendly program shows you what lives in our ponds and why these habitats are so important.

Explore all facets of the Arrowhead preserves with a varied group of nature enthusiasts during this free hike. Don't forget to dress appropriately for the weather, and bring binoculars if desired. The starting point every Tuesday in March, June, September and December will be Arrowhead Prairie (8624 Aboite Road, Roanoke, IN 46783).

Tim and Jeff will share the stories, inspiration, and techniques behind their work, along with insight into how these carvings are created and placed in natural settings. You’ll leave with a new perspective on the connection between art, nature, and storytelling.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP with Wandering James Photography

Join us for a hands-on photography workshop with James Taylor of Wandering James Photography. This beginner-friendly session is open to anyone looking to build confidence behind the camera and learn the fundamentals of photography.


Participants will explore Eagle Marsh Nature Preserve while learning key techniques, with time to practice and ask questions in a relaxed setting.

Join us at Eagle Marsh, 6801 Engle Road for a Dragonflies program. Participants will explore the wetlands to discover dragonflies and learn about their life cycle, colors, and unique behaviors. This event is for children aged 3 to 5, accompanied by a responsible adult. Dress for the weather. RSVPs are appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome.

BYO BINOCULARS BIRDING HIKE

Come and join us for our April bird hike at Eagle Marsh! We will meet at the barn entrance and take the berm trail after passing the barn and pond. The hike will last about 2 hours and cover a total distance of about 2 miles. The trail might be damp in spots, so adequate hiking shoes will be helpful. We will get a chance to see some of our winter residents and maybe even some travelers passing through. The berm trail is great for spotting our area birds.
