Archie Ratcliffe, Interim Head of Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement

Archie is the head of LGA’s public affairs and stakeholder engagement team. Archie joined the LGA in December 2023, having previously worked at the Federation of Small Businesses and public affairs consultancy JBP.

Iredia Oboh, Public Affairs and Communications Manager

Regional lead for London and the South West

Iredia plays a key role in overseeing the delivery of the LGA’s corporate parliamentary engagement and supporting the LGA’s Chairman and Chief Executive with their speeches and communications with councils. Iredia joined the LGA in August 2018, having previously worked for the General Medical Council.

Rebecca Annin, Public Affairs and Campaigns Adviser

Regional lead for the South East and East of England

Rebecca is the LGA’s public affairs lead for housing, digital and technology, and civility in public life, covering issues such as strategic housing and planning (including homelessness), connectivity, and the LGA’s Debate not Hate campaign. Rebecca also provides secretariat support for the Digital Communities APPG and PA support to the Digital Communities MCA network. Rebecca joined the LGA in November 2025, having previously worked as a parliamentary caseworker.

Louis Flood, Public Affairs and Campaigns Adviser

Regional lead for East Midlands, North East and Yorkshire and Humber

Louis is the LGA’s public affairs lead for special educational needs and disabilities, and public service transformation. The LGA’s work on English devolution also falls under his portfolio. Louis joined the LGA in November 2025, having worked as a special adviser in the previous government at the Northern Ireland Office and the Chief Whips’ Office.

Arian Nemati, Public Affairs and Campaigns Adviser

Regional lead for North West and West Midlands

Arian is the LGA’s public affairs lead for the Health and Wellbeing Committee, which covers issues related to adult social care, public health, mental health and health systems. The LGA’s work on local government finance, including engagement on fiscal events, also falls under Arian's portfolio. Arian is also the lead on lobbying issues related to skills, employment and local growth. Arian joined the LGA in May 2023, having previously worked for Carers UK.

Luke Cannell, Communications Support Officer

Luke is the LGA’s public affairs lead for Local Democracy and Culture, Tourism, and Sport (CTS). Luke supports the public affairs team behind the scenes and with the Digital Communities APPG, alongside leading systems improvement and forward planning. Luke joined the LGA in October 2025 after graduating from the University of Bath with a BSc in Politics and International Relations with a placement year in public affairs consultancy, at 5654 & Company, supporting company events and high-profile clients on public affairs across health, transport, energy, and retail sectors.
