Demolition Man (1993)

This movie prepared the way for Stun weapons being issued to the police - although battons were used in the movie, tasers were actually developed and issued. The power/benefits of electric self-drive cars and 24-7 surveillance/monitoring of all citizens is also promoted.

This movie got the public prepared for rail-guns and ultra-wide band devices (see through walls scanners)

Minority Report (2002)

Multitouch computing (using hands/fingers to grab and expand images, in midair in the case of this movie (don't get me started on muscle stress and RSI). This movie also prepared viewers for personalised advertising, ultra-wide band devices and surveillance drones - in the form of spiders.

True in part, but movies can really help prime the public at large. This list features all the movies that have in some way eased our path towards the future.
