During our recent Impact Lab in Rio, around 100 people spent a day building solutions to real problems posed by the city, using Claude and municipal data.

Introducing a new way to reflect on how you use Claude. We analyzed a sample of 1.2 million anonymized Claude Cowork sessions and found that more than 90% fell outside software development. Most of it is everyday knowledge work. The biggest share is what we'd call the work around the work: drafting a status update, building a slide deck, or condensing research into a single report. These tasks move projects forward and keep businesses running, but are rarely a person's core responsibility. People are handing that work to Claude Cowork and spending the recovered time on the parts of the job that need their judgment. Anthropic has run on Claude Tag in Slack for the past few months. It now opens roughly 65% of our product pull requests and works across engineering, sales, support, and data science.
