You can make Lemonrock work for your venue if you follow a few simple guidelines.
Rule Number 1: Make sure your venue page is up-to-date and has all the information any band or singer would ever need. The most obvious things are:
* Your venue's name, and your own name
* Contact details - at least a landline number and an email address. You can also add a mobile number.
* A description of your venue - don't make this too long - just enough to tell bands why they should play at your venue and maybe a little information about what makes your venue special - the music, the food, the ale or wine, garden, disabled facilities, etc.
* Your venue type (club, pub, live music venue, etc).
* Your street address, postcode and map - these are crucial if bands and the public are going to find you, and they don't yet know you.
* Some photos. You can add a main photo for your venue page, and more photos in 'my photos'.
* Write blogs - if you post gigs on Lemonrock, we will email you the day after the gig at your venue, prompting you to write a blog.
* If you are booking bands and adding the gigs to Lemonrock, please write something about each gig that you are putting on, even if it's just to encourage people to come along. If you have created a new band for your gig, or if the band page isn't maintained by a band, you can edit the band to add important details, like the music type (genre), photo and description of the band - it all helps the public to have confidence in gigs at your venue!
* Send email invitations to your customers. Use Lemonrock to upload a list of email addresses of your customers, and then send a personalised email to everyone on the email list for each gig - simple!
* Print flyers and posters directly from your Lemonrock page and put them out for your customers, or put them on your notice boards, doors or walls. Print out details of just your next gig, or any number of future gigs, with or without photos!
* Ask your audiences to write reviews for gigs at your venue! Reviews go directly to bands, and will appear on your venue page soon after the review is written. Mentioning Lemonrock during the gig will spur your customers to write reviews! You can also ask your customers to join Lemonrock - free of charge - and receive gig alerts when you (or bands) add new gigs to your Lemonrock page.
* Add links to your pages to other venues and bands you are connected with. This makes for interesting reading for your followers and shows how you are connected to other venues and bands in your local music scene. To add a link to another Lemonrock page, go to 'my links'. Your followers can see your new links in their personal 'My Lemonrock' page.
Once your venue page is complete, use Lemonrock's mailshot system which allows you to contact multiple local bands by writing a single email message, asking bands to get in touch.
Rule Number 2: Keep your page fresh with new photos, gigs and blogs.
Rule Number 3: Find out what other venues in your area are up to - follow them on Lemonrock, and keep up-to-date with them via email alerts from us, and visiting 'What's New' regularly!

* Dates when you are available - these dates appear in searches made by venues when they are looking for bands. Use your diary to add your available dates - 'My Gigs' diary section.
* Your location - even if the band are from different areas, choosing a location means venues can find your available dates. Make sure the location is specified in the 'Band/artist town/city' section in the band/artist form.
* The format of your band (4 piece, duo, solo artist, etc).
* Some photos. You can add a main photo for your band page, and more photos in 'my photos'.
* Recordings (MP3s) of your band - this gives both venues and the public a good idea of what to expect.
* YouTube or Vimeo videos can be added to your main page by first creating a video and uploading it to YouTube/Vimeo. You then add some embed code into your Lemonrock band page.
* A song list - as well as adding MP3s, you can give a better idea of what an audience might expect from your songs titles - if they're well-known covers, or interesting originals, the public wants to know!
* Write blogs - if you post gigs on Lemonrock, we will email you the day after your gig, prompting you to write a blog.

Lemonrock has a mailshot system that allows bands to contact several venues by writing a single email message. Venues can also "shout out" to bands in the same way.
To send targeted emails, you need to be a Band/Artist member or a Venue member.
Lemonrock's email messaging system enables bands and venues to:
* send personalised emails via Lemonrock to any hand-picked combination of bands and venues
* send personalised emails via Lemonrock to all bands or venues in any geographical area
* see what they have sent, and to whom, with a record of the email subjects and messages
General Information
Please be courteous in your emails sent via Lemonrock.
Do not bombard venues and bands with repetitive emails.
All emails are logged.
Email content must be connected with your role as a band or venue page owner.
You can only send to bands and venues who have published email addresses and contact names on their Lemonrock pages and who have opted-in to receive mailshots from other members.
If you set a prefix in the 'Personalise?' option, you don't need to write your own greeting - we'll add it for you automatically.
Lemonrock will insert the name of the recipient's band or venue at the beginning of the email message, or following the personalised greeting, if you have chosen one.
Your full name and email address, as registered in 'my details', will be included with each email sent.
Limits
Email sending limit is 2000 emails per 30 day period, and to 200 emails per mailout.
Maximum email message length is 1500 characters.
Technical Details
In order to gain trust from Internet mail servers, your emails are sent using a 'From' header that has your name in it, but an email address of no-reply-enquiry@lemonrock.com.
However, the 'Reply-To' header is set to your own email address.
Most email programs correctly reply to the email address in the Reply-To header, but some do not. On those occasions, the recipient will send their reply to a non-existent address, which may or may not be evident to them. Lemonrock has no control over these email programs, and cannot guarantee that any replies will be correctly sent back to you.
You'll find the targeted email form in 'my emails' at Contact/Invite > send mailshots menu option.
Lemonrock has some great tools for bands and artists looking for gigs.
There's a button in the band edit form called 'View Locations & Fees'.
1. MULTIPLE LOCATIONS & DISTANCES
Bands can specify up to 4 different locations, and give a maximum distance for each, to indicate how far they are willing to travel to play. This is useful if a band's members live in different towns, or if a band wants to target a new town/city for gigs.
2. FEE WEIGHTING FOR MORE DISTANT GIGS
Bands can specify a minimum fee for their gigs and a weighting factor for every extra 10 miles travel. So, they can cover their extra time and travel expenses for longer journeys, and be sure that this information is visible up-front.
3. MULTIPLE SIZE FORMATS
When a venue or client searches for a band, they can check up to 4 boxes to find what they want: Solo, Duo, Trio and Band. We realise that many bands can scale down, and many artists can scale up in size, so Band/Artist members can specify up to 4 size formats, matching the checkboxes in the band search form. This gives bands and artists a better chance of being contacted.
4. MULTIPLE GENRE TAGS
Bands and artists can specify up to 20 genres for their act. These can be traditional genre tags like 'rock', 'blues', 'acoustic' etc, but bands can also create their own. Venues can search for bands and specify one or more genres of their choosing. The more genres a band has, the more likely they will appear in search results.
You can edit your bands in 'my bands' and your venues in 'my venues'.
Normally, you can edit the name and update your page.
There are two cases when re-naming is not possible:
1. Your band or venue has past or current gigs listed. You must ask Lemonrock to change the name. This is because changing the name of a band or venue with gigs can be very confusing for the public (and other bands and venues!). Therefore, if we approve the name change, we will ask you to add an explanation to your page regarding the change of name.
2. The band or venue already exists. In this case, if the other page is not being maintained by a paid-up member, Lemonrock may, at its discretion, allocate the page to you in place of your existing page.
In either case, please contact us to request the change.
Yes. If you are a Band or Venue member, you can can appoint up to 10 Delegates to help you manage your Lemonrock account (gigs, diary, etc).
Each Delegate that you invite will receive a login link with a special password. Delegates are able to do everything you can do as the main account holder, with a few exceptions.
Delegates are not able to:
* see anything on the Admin menu ('My Details', 'My Settings', etc)
* cancel membership
Delegates can login from up to 10 different devices simultaneously.
To manage your Delegates, go to the 'Manage Account Delegates' page.
The Delegate system is separate to the normal login system.
If you already have a Lemonrock account (as a Band, Venue or Music Lover), you need to logout of that account and then use the Delegate login link that your delegator has sent you.
Search your emails for the subject: "Lemonrock delegate login for (your name)" and use that link to login to Lemonrock as a Delegate. If you can't find the email, please ask the delegator to re-send it.
The email will contain the following 2 lines:
email: (your email address)
password: (a 32-character login code)
There will also be a login link that starts with https://www.lemonrock.com/memberlogin.php?email=
Once logged in using that link, you will see a "Delegate" label at the top-left of the page.
Adding content (photos, gigs, CDs, MP3s, blogs, videos, etc)
First, join Lemonrock as a Band/Artist Member or as a Venue Member. After you submit the joining form, we create a login account for you, and allocate any existing band or venue that you want to edit. You then receive an email from us asking you to confirm your email address. After you have done this, you can start adding gigs.
Band and venue members can rotate their photos if they are upside down.
To rotate the main photo, go to 'my bands' (or 'my venues') and under the photo, click 'rotate picture 90 degrees', then once again.
For gallery photos, go to the band or venue Photos section and click the 'Organise' button. Four buttons will appear within each thumbnail image: a rotate button (top left), a delete button (top right), a crop button (bottom right), and an include button (bottom left). An upside-down photo can be corrected by clicking the rotate button twice.
Cancelling gigs
If your gig has been cancelled, please mark it as 'cancelled' instead of deleting it. To cancel a gig, go to the 'My Gigs' Edit section and select the gig from the list. Change 'Gig status' from 'Gig Confirmed' to one of the 'CANCELLED' options. You can also cancel a gig from the 'My Gigs' List section by clicking on the EDIT button.
Deleting gigs
There are two ways to delete gigs:
1. Go to the 'My Gigs' Edit section and select the gig from the list. Then click on the 'Delete' button.
2. Go to the the 'My Gigs' List section and use the EDIT button to delete the gig.
If you are logged in, your changes will appear immediately on any page you view.
However, if you are checking a band, venue or gig on a device and you are not logged in, it may take a few minutes for the new information to show. This is due to pages being cached in your browser.
To see a new version of a page, you can click the 'reload' or 'refresh' button in your browser.
You can print flyers and posters by going to the 'Print' section of your band or venue page.
You can select a single gig to print, or a range of gigs. You can select a photo for your poster or flyer, and choose a font size, a message and text colours. If you are a venue member, you can include a small band picture for each gig.
Add a promotional message and a scannable QR code to spread the word.
Not necessarily. If you have a band that goes out in different formats (for example, as a 4-piece electric band but also as an acoustic duo), you can specify the variant line-up for each gig.
Band variants can be specified for each gig. If you don't specify a variant, your normal Band/Artist name will be used in the gig listings.
When adding a gig, you can choose the band variant in the gig form.
For example, if your band is normally called 'The Bart Simpson Band', you can also be listed as:
Bart Simpson (Acoustic)
Bart Simpson (Solo)
Bart Simpson Duo
Bart Simpson Trio
And if you are normally a solo or duo act, let's say 'Ned Flanders', you can be listed as:
Ned Flanders Duo
Ned Flanders Trio
Ned Flanders Band
The Ned Flanders Band
Your main Band/Artist page title does not change. The variants only appear in gig listings, with the normal band/artist name replaced by the variant, if one has been selected.
Square photos
If you add photos to Lemonrock, make sure that the following photos are square, or as square as possible, as they are used as square thumbnails.
* main band/artist or venue photo
* new gig photos added to the gig form
* existing gallery photos added to the gig form
* blog photos
* ad photos
* CD photos
In these cases, our photo processing software automatically crops your rectangular photos into squares - landscape photos are cropped to the centre of the photo, and portrait photos are cropped to the top of the photo.
Rectangular photos
Band and venue gallery photos in the rotating carousels should be landscape orientated and have dimensions of 300 by 200 pixels (or identical proportions, e.g. 600 by 400 pixels, etc). Anything else will be given black borders in the carousel.
You can see when a gig was first posted by clicking the 'Creation/update history' button on any gig form. This tells you when the gig was first added to Lemonrock, and by whom (yourself, or the other party. Bands and venues can both create gigs).
However, this information may not be accurate if the gig has been edited since it was first posted. For this reason, we strongly advise members to create new gigs, instead of editing the dates of existing gigs. If the main gig details have been edited, a warning message is shown at the top of the gig form, saying "This gig has been edited". Click on the message to see what details have changed, when they were changed, and by which party.
To mark a gig as 'CANCELLED', go to the 'My Gigs' List section and click the 'Edit' button next to the gig. Select the 'Edit gig' option from the pop-up menu. Change the Gig status from 'Gig Confirmed' to one of the CANCELLED options. This allows you to set the re-booking status. Remember to click 'Update gig details' on the form after changing the gig status.
To mark a gig as 'TBC', go to 'my gigs' and select the gig from the list. Then change 'Gig status' from 'Gig Confirmed' to 'Gig is TBC'. Then update the form using the 'Update gig details' button.
TBC gigs are hidden from the public, but will show on your own band or venue page when you are logged in.
Sometimes, a photo on an SD card can become corrupted (damaged) when you try to upload it to a website. This happens more with some devices than others.
If this keeps happening, try re-sizing your photos to make them smaller, or transfer them to a PC before uploading them.
If you try to upload a photo to Lemonrock where at least the bottom 10% of the picture is all grey (hex colour 0x808080), you will get this error message.
Example:
You can add any number of gigs for the same day.
The ''My Gigs' List section page allows you to add one gig per day, but if you go to 'My Gigs' Edit section you can use the form to add more gigs for any day.
There is a step-by-step guide on the How To Add Gigs To Lemonrock page.
Band/Artist members can add CDs to their page, with a track listing, description, photo and a 'Buy' button for each CD.
The CDs section appears on your band/artist page after your 'Band Contact Details' section.
To add a CD:
* from the Edit menu, select 'Bands/Artists' and then 'my CDs'.
* click on 'New'.
* fill in the details of your CD, including the track names, a photo of the CD cover and a URL so that people can buy your CD online (e.g. at Amazon, Etsy, iTunes, etc).
* update the form.
The 'my CDs' section is at https://www.lemonrock.com/mycds.php.
You need to copy an embed code from your SoundCloud account.
If you have problems adding your SoundCloud tracks, look at the following suggestions to fix these errors.
Error 1. SoundCloud embed code for Track 1 (or 2 or 3) is incorrect. It must not contain any HTTP(S) addresses apart from 'https://w.soundcloud.com'.
Solution 1: Check that only one URL is present in your copied embed code, and that it is in the format specified. If you add other URLs, the embed code will not be accepted.
Error 2. SoundCloud embed code for Track 1 (or 2 or 3) is incorrect. It must contain 'https://w.soundcloud.com/player/...' and begin with <iframe ... and contain no other HTML.
Solution 2: Check that you have used the Embed code from SoundCloud and not a Web URL. The embed code HTML begins with <iframe and must end with a closing </iframe> tag. If there is any other HTML after the closing iframe tag, the embed code will not be accepted.
Error 3. SoundCloud embed code for Track 1 (or 2 or 3) is incorrect. The code must begin with '<iframe ' and end with '</iframe>'.
Solution 3: Trim off any HTML following the closing iframe tag.
Error 4. Too many SoundCloud embed codes for Track 1 (or 2 or 3). Each SoundCloud link must contain only one embed code.
Solution 4. Make sure you have only pasted in one embed code, and not the same code twice, or code for more than one track.
To help prevent inaccurate details on Lemonrock, any gigs that are not editable will be set to 'TBC' to exclude them from our gig listings.
All gigs on Lemonrock are posted by either a band or a venue. When both the band and venue are Lemonrock members, the gig may be edited by either party.
When a member's subscription expires, and a gig can no longer be edited by either party, the gig will be set to 'TBC', which will remove it from the gig listings.
These gigs can be re-instated by either yourself or the other party by renewing membership, and reverting the 'TBC' status back to 'Gig confirmed'.
We will send you email notifications of any gigs that are affected.
We will attempt to convert your social media links into clickable icons. Just paste in the social media URL of your page and we will render an icon on your Lemonrock page.
If you don't want automatic link conversion, you can manually add links to your Lemonrock pages using a special markup language called BBCode.
BBCode enables you to turn URLs into hyperlinks (clickable links) that take the user to another site. BBCode can also be used to make text bold and italic.
You don't have to use BBCode if you just want your URLs to show as clickable links.
BBCode tags reference
The following BBCode tags change the appearance of text:
[b]Bold text[/b] produces Bold text
[u]Underlined text[/u] produces Underlined text
[i]Italic text[/i] produces Italic text
[url=www.bbc.co.uk]BBC[/url] produces BBC (hyperlink)
[url]www.bbc.co.uk[/url] produces www.bbc.co.uk (hyperlink)
[email]john@hotmail.com[/email] produces john@hotmail.com (email hyperlink)
[clrboth] produces an HTML clearing line break, useful for spacing text.
Yes. If you have a solo act page or 'dep player' page on Lemonrock, you can show that you are part of a gig, for example, if you're playing at an open mic night, are a regular part of a larger band, or are standing in (depping) for a regular band member.
To add your solo act or dep act to gigs:
1. Create a new link from your solo act (or dep act) to the main band (or open mic) in 'my links'.
2. Go to the main band's (or open mic night's) gigs page.
Click on the 'Add (your act name)' button next to any gig, and your name will be added to the gig listing: the gig will now say "With (your act name)". Your own solo act's or dep player's gigs page will include the gigs that you have added yourself to. You can also remove yourself from any gig that you have added yourself to.
Note: You must set the 'Band/artist format' to either 'Solo Artist' or 'Dep Musician', or the Add/Remove buttons will not show.
There are several reasons your gig(s) may not be showing in our public gig guide pages.
Private gigs are never shown in the public gig listings, but show on your own band/artist or venue page. Lemonrock marks certain gigs as 'Private' automatically. Gigs are automatically marked as private if:
* the venue name begins with 'Private' or
* the venue name includes the word 'wedding' or
* the venue name includes the word 'birthday' or
* the Entrance price type of the gig is set to 'Private gig' or
Gigs played at care homes are also considered to be private gigs.
You can choose whether or not to include private gigs in your flyers and gig feeds.
If your gig is not private and not TBC, it will show in the public gig guide if the user has selected a search location and distance that includes the location of your gig. Sometimes it is useful to set a wider search distance as some venue locations are approximate.
Remember you can get your fans to follow you on Lemonrock, and never miss any public gig that you post. Check out the 'Follow / Share Page' section on your main page to see the sharing options.
Gigs are usually posted as 'Band A at Venue B' where, as a band/artist member, you can create a venue by typing the name into the gig form. (If the venue doesn't already exist on Lemonrock, we will create a skeleton venue page that you can add basic information to.)
Sometimes, creating a new festival venue can create a duplicate for the venue where the festival is being held. This can be avoided by specifying a festival name for the gig.
To show that you are playing as part of a larger festival, do the following in the gig form:
1. Set 'Part of bigger festival?' to 'Yes'
2. Type a name for the festival (e.g. Beerstock)
We will then change the format of the gig listing so that it reads 'Beerstock (Festival) featuring Band A at Venue B'. You can also add support acts if you know who else is playing (but please don't duplicate anyone else's existing gigs).
Gigs for each day are shown in the gig guide in order of distance from the user's geographical location.
To re-arrange the track order in your band's track player:
1. Log in and go to the Tracks tab of your band page.
2. Click on the player 'move' button that looks like a cross symbol (to the right of the stop button).
3. Drag the tracks up or down to the desired position on the list.
Lemonrock's track player is limited to MP3 files only.
However, you can use an online service to convert from most audio formats to MP3 at:
First, join Lemonrock as a Band/Artist member.
There are two ways to get your music tracks onto Lemonrock.
1. Upload tracks to Lemonrock
There is a guide to help you convert your tracks into MP3s on the How to get your MP3s onto Lemonrock page. To add an MP3: go to Edit my tracks, and click on 'New'. Then complete and submit the form.
Please note: If your MP3s are very large, you will end up with a blank screen when you try to upload the MP3s to Lemonrock. Please make sure that MP3s are no bigger than 40MiB (41,943,040 bytes) in size. You can make MP3s smaller by creating lower quality versions, for example, by reducing the sampling rate.
2. Embed links to SoundCloud tracks
You can embed up to 3 SoundCloud tracks on your Lemonrock band/artist page if you have a SoundCloud account. Just copy and paste the embed code(s) from your SoundCloud page into your band/artist edit page on Lemonrock.
To remove a SoundCloud track from your Lemonrock page, simply delete the embed code. You don't have to remove the track from SoundCloud.
Venues can create several stages in 'my stages' and then specify the stage for each gig, or each individual act in a gig or festival.
The stage names appear next to each act in the gig listings pages.
Go to your 'my MP3s' section, and select the old MP3 from the list. Click the 'Delete' button. After you have deleted the MP3, you can re-create it by clicking the 'New' button.
Lemonrock allows bands and venues to add YouTube and Vimeo videos to their pages. You must already have a video on YouTube or Vimeo.
To get the videos onto your Lemonrock page, paste in the embed codes into the 'My Bands/Artists' form, in the video section. For venues, paste in the embed codes into the 'My Venues' form. We can process some YouTube URLs to convert them into embed codes, but please paste in the actual embed codes if you can.
You can paste in any of the following:
1. A YouTube HTML embed code (from the YouTube 'Share/Embed' section)
2. A YouTube URL (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM2q3rkufVE)
3. A YouTube short URL (https://www.youtu.be/...)
4. The 11 character YouTube video ID (e.g. zM2q3rkufVE)
5. A "Shorts" (Portrait orientation) URL that begins with https://youtube.com/shorts/
6. A Vimeo HTML embed code (from the Vimeo 'Share/Embed' section)
In cases 1 and 6, do not paste any other HTML apart from the iframe embed code, as this will be automatically removed.
In cases 2, 3, 4 and 5, we will convert your URL or video ID into standard HTML embed code.
To remove a video from your band page, simply delete the embed code from your band form. You don't have to remove the video from YouTube or Vimeo.
Please note: videos from other websites such as Facebook are not permitted.
Your videos are embedded on your page via links from YouTube or Vimeo.
To change or remove the videos, edit your the links on your band page by editing your band page at:
(From the menu, select My Account ... Bands/Artists ... my bands/artists)
Find the 'Video 1 embed code', 'Video 2 embed code' and 'Video 3 embed code' sections in this form and edit or delete them as you want. Then update the form by clicking 'Update band/artist details'.
Contact details, telephone numbers and email addresses for your band or venue are specified for each band or venue page.
Your personal email address in 'my details' is the one you gave us when joining Lemonrock. When you create a new band or venue page, your personal email address is automatically copied to the new band or venue page as the email contact address.
You can edit the band or venue email address if it is different to your personal email address.
Log in to Lemonrock, and go to your band/artist page.
Click on the 'Edit band/artist' button in your page.
You can type in, or paste in, your song list into the 'Song list' section, near the bottom of the form.
Once your song list has been added, it will show in the 'Songs' section of your page.
There are no 'Songs' sections for band pages without song lists.
Your email address on your band or venue page can be visible or hidden. If you choose to hide your email address, people can still contact you using the Web-mail link on your page (send a private enquiry). In this case, your email address is never revealed to the public. You can reveal your email address if you wish, by setting 'Show this email address?' to 'Yes'. In this case, people can contact you by Web-mail or regular email.
Your band or venue has a main picture, and a separate picture gallery. You can add your main photo by clicking the 'Edit band/artist' or 'Edit venue' button on your main page.
For gallery photos, do the following:
1. Go to 'my photos'
2. Click on the 'New' button to get a new form
3. In the new form, click the 'Browse' button to choose a picture from your computer
4. Set the Photo type to 'gallery + rotator' or 'rotator'. Rotator pictures are included in the animated sequence on your main band or venue page. Gallery pictures are included in your 'my photos' section.
5. Add a caption if you want to
6. Click on the 'Create this band/artist photo' button.
Please note: If your photos are very large, you will end up with a blank screen when you try to upload the photos to Lemonrock. Please make sure that photos are no bigger than 10MiB in size. You can re-size photos using a photo-editing program such as PaintShop Pro, Photoshop or Microsoft Paint.
Please note: Lemonrock has limited support for uploading HEIC / HEIF images (mainly from newer Apple devices) as most browsers do not support this format. You are advised to convert your HEIC images to JPEG files using your device's photo or camera settings. In some cases, changing a photo's file name to .jpg may allow the photo to be uploaded successfully, but this is not guaranteed.
Yes. No-one else apart from you and the Lemonrock Editors can access your band or venue details. If you add gigs to the site, these can be edited by the venue, the band/artist and the Lemonrock Editors. More info »
Yes. As a member, you simply log in and edit/update the gig information.
To mark a gig as 'SOLD OUT', go to the 'My Gigs' Edit section and select the gig from the list. Then change 'Gig status' from 'Gig Confirmed' to 'Gig is SOLD OUT'. Then update the form using the 'Update gig details' button. You can also use the EDIT menu next to any gig in the 'My Gigs' List section.
Yes. Once you have added your gigs to Lemonrock, you can convert them to many different formats, including iCalendar format.
To get a list of your gigs in another format, go to your 'My Gigs' diary section page.
To import your gigs into a Google, Apple or Yahoo calendar, use the URL shown in your diary section. The URL begins with https://www.lemonrock.com/ical.php?. Copy and paste this URL into your online calendar to keep it up to date with Lemonrock.
You can also export (download) your Diary as an iCalendar file or as a text file. Each type of date in your Diary (gig, TBC, free, unavailable, etc) can be independently selected for inclusion into the exported file. To export your Diary, go to your 'My Gigs' diary section.
To delete a band:
1. Log in and go to the band or venue page
2. Click on the 'Edit details' button
3. In the form, click on the red 'Delete' button, and confirm that you really want to delete the band page or venue page
BEWARE: Deleting a band or venue also deletes all gigs (past and present), photos, reviews, blogs and MP3s - so be careful!
Lemonrock cannot restore these pages once you have deleted them.
Yes, you can show combined gig diaries for any combination of your bands/artists.
This means that your public diaries show gigs by all your selected bands/artists, and your exported calendar files contain gigs from all your selected bands/artists.
Only gig dates are combined. Holidays, 'non-public free date' days, available dates and unavailable dates are not combined.
Combined gigs do not show in your diary when you are editing it, only when it is viewed on your band/artist pages.
You can combine and un-combine gig diaries at will. There is no permanent change to your individual diaries.
To combine diaries:
1. Go to 'my diary settings'.
2. Select the bands/artists you want to be in your combined gig diaries.
3. Click 'Update diary settings' to save the changes.
When a Member's membership expires, any MP3s posted by the Member onto Lemonrock may be deleted by Lemonrock. A grace period is normally applied after a membership expires, during which the MP3s may be protected from deletion. This grace period is currently 21 days, but may be changed, or removed, without notice, at any time by Lemonrock
Following the grace period, any MP3s posted by the Member will be permanently deleted from this site.
Lemonrock allows band names up to 4 letters long to be all capitals, for example "F.M." or "B.Y.O". CAPITAL LETTERS LOOK LIKE SHOUTING, so we do not permit their use.
How To Search
There's a magnifying glass icon on every page of Lemonrock.
Tap the magnifying glass to quickly find any band or venue, or any town/city that has gigs.
Just type the first few letters of the band, venue or town you're looking for.
Search for bands by area in the Band Search section.
Search for venues by area in the Venue Search section.
If you're looking for a band for an event or to play a gig at your venue, see our Available Bands section. You can specify the size of band that you're looking for, the type of music, and the date.
About Lemonrock gig guide
Lemonrock is a live music gig guide and management tool that helps people advertise and promote live music events. Bands and venues update their own details and Lemonrock takes care of organising and distributing your information.
Lemonrock is a great resource for finding gigs, bands and venues. Our members can post gigs, photos, MP3s and videos, link to other bands and venues, print flyers and posters, and keep in touch with their fans and customers. We are the only gig guide to offer all these features, plus a range of tools that make finding, creating, and promoting gigs highly effective.
You can read some testimonials from our members here.
All types. We list rock, folk, acoustic, jazz, blues and everything in between.
We list music at all types of venue; pubs, arts centres, clubs, bars, restaurants, concert halls, outdoor events, and many, many more.
You can add gigs for the UK only.
We experimented for a few years with an international database that enabled gig posting in other countries, but this was discontinued due to the lack of use/popularity, and extra complexity needed in the software.
When a band or venue posts new gigs, we can send fans an immediate notification to their phone (or PC).
Instant alerts are sent directly to a fan's phone. No emails are involved.
This service is free of charge.
Fans can either join Lemonrock as a Music Lover, or follow a link, which will automatically add the band or venue to the fan's favourites list, and send them new gig alerts.
Example 1 - follow a venue (e.g. The Horn venue in St Albans)
https://www.lemonrock.com/thehorn?follow
Example 2 - follow a band (e.g. Deaf Shepherd)
https://www.lemonrock.com/deafshepherd?follow
Instant alerts are usually sent within minutes of new gigs being posted, and could arrive at any time (8am - midnight), but fans can select when, and how often, alerts are received on the Favourites page.
Each band and venue page on Lemonrock has a Share QR code - just scan to start following your favourites.
When a band or venue posts new gigs, we can send you an immediate notification to your phone or browser.
To enable these notification messages, you need to:
* Set the band or venue as one of your favourites in 'Faves'
and
* When prompted, enable notifications for Lemonrock on your phone or PC
You can choose the time of day that you receive these gig alerts, and how often you receive them.
These notifications make use of new "Web Push" technology. Some older devices don't support Web Push, and no Apple devices support it†. If your Android phone is older than 8.1 (Oreo), or if your browser is Internet Explorer, or is running on an old version of Windows (pre-Windows 7), you won't be able to receive Instant alerts.
--
† This is because Apple makes money from its App Store, where Apps use a proprietary notification system††. Investing in Web Push technology would deprive them of some of this revenue. Apple's App Store grossed more than $64 billion in 2020, according to an analysis by CNBC.
†† One assumes this is the case. Apple have not had the manners to explain their position publicly.
When you open Lemonrock in your browser for the first time, it does not know where you are. You can allow the browser to detect your location, or you can browse gigs in any county or town.
To change your search location to your current location, go to the home page ('Gig Guide' page) and click the 'Change search' button. Then click the 'FIND GIGS NEAR ME' button to see your local gig guide.
* Lemonrock is visited by over 898,000 people every month (more than 4,209,000 people every year), on the web and on their mobiles.
* Lemonrock is the first place that thousands of music lovers look.
* Lemonrock is accurate, because its content is added by artists and venues themselves.
* When someone searches for gigs by town or postcode, band and venue gigs show in our listings.
* Lemonrock sends thousands of gig alerts by email every week to live music fans.
* Lemonrock is usually much cheaper than running your own site, and is so easy to update!
We remember your location using a cookie that tells us where you are. If this cookie is destroyed by your computer/phone/tablet, we will have to detect your location again.
If you use your browser's Incognito mode (or In-Private mode) to browse, or if you are behind a firewall or VPN that doesn't accept cookies, we will have to work out your location every time you request a gig listings page.
Lemonrock is easier to use if you use normal browser mode, and set your browser or network to accept cookies from lemonrock.com.
Lemonrock sends 3 types of gig alerts to its members:
1. Local gig listings
We send email alerts about local gigs. We send these emails every week, on the day of your choice, or every day if you prefer. You select your town and distance in 'my details'.
2. New gigs posted by favourite bands and venues
We also send alerts to members if they are following particular bands or venues. To add a favourite band or venue, click on the heart icon on their page, or add the favourite directly in Faves.
When a new gig is posted on Lemonrock, we send you:
a) an instant gig alert to your phone, 10 minutes after the gig is posted
b) an email the morning after the gig is posted
c) an email gig reminder at 8am on the day of the gig
You can set these 3 options use the slider switches in Faves.
You can get alerts for any band, any venue, or any combination of band and venue.
You can delete any or all of your favourites, at any time.
3. Gig cancellation alerts
We also send gig cancellation alerts when a gig in your area (or a favourite band/venue gig you are following) is cancelled at short notice (within 7 days of the gig date). To receive these cancellation emails, 'Email me gig cancellations?' to 'Yes' in 'my details'.
To stop receiving email gig listings, go to 'my details' and change 'Send me gig listings' to 'never'.
To stop receiving newsletters, go to 'my details' and change 'Email me newsletters?' to 'No'.
To stop receiving email notifications about cancelled gigs, go to 'my details' and change 'Email me gig cancellations?' to 'No'.
If you are a Band/Artist or Venue member, you can turn off various other warning emails in 'my settings'.
Magazines and newspapers are welcome to use our listings, with prior agreement. Please contact us first, and we will be happy to advise.
Cancelled gigs are marked CANCELLED in the gig listings pages. They are also added to the Cancellations section.
We suggest that you mark a gig as CANCELLED, rather than delete it, so that people have as much information as possible about your gig.
Lemonrock sends out courtesy emails to members who have agreed* to receive email alerts about cancelled gigs, and either:
1. have the band in their favourites section, or
2. have the venue in their favourites section, or
3. have set their gig listings alerts to include the venue's location.
* The option is set in 'my details' ('Email me gig cancellations?'). This is an opt-in setting, which is initially set to 'off' for each member.
A gig must have been on Lemonrock for at least 24 hours before being cancelled, if any cancellation emails are to be sent. Cancellation emails are sent out 5 minutes after an eligible gig has been marked as cancelled, in case the gig has been mistakenly marked as cancelled. This delay gives the member enough time to reverse the gig status.
Gigs that are marked as cancelled within 24 hours of being posted are not included in courtesy emails.

Band and venue memberships are free for 30 days, and our Music Lover membership is completely free!
There are 3 membership types:
1. Band/Artist Membership
2. Venue Membership
3. FREE Music Lover Membership (for getting the most from your local live music scene, including regular local gig guide emails and email alerts about bands and venues you are following)
After your free trial, you can choose to continue using the full features of Lemonrock by paying the membership fee on-line. If you choose not to upgrade to Full Membership, you will not be able to add new gigs, photos, MP3s, free dates or blogs. You can upgrade to Full Membership at any time, before or after your free trial period has expired. Your paid membership is added on to the end of your free trial, which always runs to its completion.
When a band or venue membership expires, we will still list your posted gigs, but with a warning: any gigs added by an expired member will be marked as 'unconfirmed' if neither the venue nor the band can edit the expired member's gigs. Lemonrock adds a warning to any gig that cannot be edited, so that the public is not misled or disappointed in the case of a gig being changed or cancelled, but not updated on Lemonrock.
No. You can buy Add-Ons instead. Our basic account allows you to have one band page or one venue page.
If you need to create more band or venue pages, you can purchase Band or Venue Add-Ons for a small cost, and run all your bands or venues using the same account. This is much cheaper than running several separate accounts.
Band/Artist members have a basic MP3 allowance of 120MiB per band (enough for about 7 or 8 songs at normal sound quality). This is enough for about 26 MP3 tracks, based on average file sizes on our site. If you need to add more MP3s, you can buy MP3 Add-Ons for a small cost. The new pages (or MP3 space) are added to your main account.
Purchase Add-Ons from the Add-Ons page.
If you are some way into your annual band or venue membership, you'll get a discount when purchasing Band/Venue Add-Ons. We discount Band/Venue Add-Ons for members with less than 90, 180 and 270 days left on their memberships, by 60%, 40% and 15% respectively. We'll automatically apply any discount due on the Add-Ons page when you purchase them.
You may not need to purchase Add-Ons if you are a Band/Artist member. If you simply go out as one band/act but with different line-ups, you don't need to purchase Add-Ons because your gigs can be marked as variants (solo, duo, trio, band) in any gig, saving you the trouble of maintaining different pages.
You can see a list of the pages you are maintaining (and disown any of them) in the 'My Pages' section.
Lemonrock is free for all to browse, both on the web and on mobile phones. The small annual charge for membership (for Band and Venue Members) covers the massive amount of work that goes into designing, testing, advertising and maintaining this unique site.
Lemonrock runs on a dedicated Web server to give you faster and more reliable access! We believe Lemonrock is great value for what it offers. The Lemonrock site is edited and maintained on a daily basis, and, like any quality newspaper or magazine, this takes a great deal of time and effort.
Our Music Lover membership is free, and enables you to log in to Lemonrock, set up gig alerts for any band or venue on the site, and see what your favourite bands and venues are up to.
If you want to use Lemonrock to promote events in the UK that you run for a charity, we will consider giving you a free Venue Member membership. You will need to prove to us that you are connected with a UK Registered Charity, and you must join Lemonrock using an email address with the same domain name as the specified charity website to obtain your free membership. You will only be permitted to add gigs organised by, and for the sole benefit of, the specified charity. This free membership is not offered to venues or individuals who occasionally stage charity events as well as non-charity events. Please contact us for consideration.

If you wish to upgrade your free Music Lover membership to a Band/Artist membership or Venue membership, first cancel your membership on the cancellation page. You may then re-join as a Band or Venue member.
If you wish to cancel your membership and delete your account, please go to the Cancel Membership page. Once your membership is cancelled, your details will be removed from our database, and we will no longer contact you with newsletters, gig listings or gig alerts.
You can unsubscribe from newsletters or gig alerts by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' link at the end of any email that we send you, or by following the "List-Unsubscribe" link in the header section of any email. Alternatively, you can log in and change your preferences on the 'my details' page.

We are unable to take payment over the telephone, or payment by cheque.
As of January 2019, we no longer accept payment by PayPal, due to their high charges.
Once you have paid for your membership, you can print out your receipt by going to my membership and clicking on the 'Print Receipt (PDF)' link.

Promoters can join Lemonrock as either a Band/Artist member, or as a Venue member. Which option you choose depends on how you operate your business.
----
Option A : Join as a Venue
If you run a live music festival in one location, or promote gigs at one specific venue, and want to add gigs for several different bands, you should join Lemonrock as a Venue member.
For each gig you post, the venue name will be the name you join with (for example, BobFest, Birmingham). You can add any band, new or pre-existing, to your gigs.
Your gigs will be listed as:
Band A + Band B + Band C @ BobFest, Birmingham
----
Option B : Join as a Band/Artist
If you promote several different bands, and/or put on gigs at a number of venues, you should join Lemonrock as a Band/Artist member.
For each gig you post, your main "band" name will appear as the main band, so make sure that this is your official Promoter name (e.g. Rockstar International).
The band(s) actually appearing at the gig must be added in the Support Bands section of the gig form. If the band is new to Lemonrock, you must specify the genre in addition to the band/artist name.
Your gigs will be listed as:
Rockstar International (Promoter) presents Band A + Band B + Band C @ Venue X
You can change "presents" to other suitable words, such as "featuring", "with", "including", "starring", etc - just select the desired word from the list in the gig form.
There is also an option to omit the "(Promoter)" genre from your name, for example:
Rockstar International presents Band A + Band B + Band C @ Venue X
----
When adding gigs as a promoter/agent, you must observe the following rules:
1. You must add accurate information, including specific band names, gig descriptions and gig times, to all gigs that you post on Lemonrock.
2. You must not add your contact details (company name, brand name, name, address, email, or telephone number, etc) to any pre-existing band page.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in your gigs being removed from our site, your access to this site blocked, and your membership being terminated by us without notice to you. We will contact any member by email where we consider that there is insufficient information about the actual bands/artists who are playing at any posted gig. There may be exceptions to this, for example if a gig is an Open Mic Night or Jam.
We know that people leave bands, and that bands split up. There are dozens of reasons.
If your band is still playing but your band's Lemonrock page is owned by an ex-member, we're here to help. We always try to liaise with all parties if there's a problem. We'll get you back on Lemonrock under most circumstances.
Please note that memberships are not transferable - if a member has paid a subscription for a band page, the page may be transferable, but the subscription is not.
Lemonrock is a live music gig guide.
Venue members may post comedy gigs and other non-music gigs on their venue pages, but must be aware that such gigs are not included in our public listings.
To post your non-music gigs for free on our sister site, Pubs in Town, please head over to:
You can follow any band or venue on Lemonrock using your 'my favourites' section. We'll send you details of new gigs when they are posted on Lemonrock.
For all members, your favourites section can be reached from the main 'Guide' menu (on a desktop, click on Guide and then on Favourites; on a mobile, click 'Favourites' on the main Menu).
If you have a Music Lover account, your favourites section also has a separate tabbed section (called Faves) at the top of each page when you are logged in.
If your band or venue page has no current gigs listed, you can disown any band or venue page by logging in and going to 'my pages'.
If your band or venue page has current gigs listed, you will not be able to delete the page - only Lemonrock can do this. Please email us your request and an explanation of why you no longer need your page. Alternatively, you can delete your current gigs, and then disown your page.
When you disown a page, it is not deleted, but is removed from your account, and returned to the Lemonrock 'free pool' where it can be claimed by a band member or venue owner who wishes to promote gigs for that band or venue. Once a page is removed from your Lemonrock account, your page allowance is adjusted upwards by 1, enabling you to create a new band or venue page.
No. Lemonrock is a live music gig guide.
If you run a pub and put on other non-music events such as comedy, quiz, karaoke, disco, food, drink or sporting events, please post your gigs on our sister site Pubs in Town instead.
If your gig includes a food or drink offering, you can add this information to the gig description.
If there's already a band or venue page on Lemonrock that someone else has added, you can usually claim it.
First, find the page by searching for your band or venue, using the search icon (magnifying glass) at the top right of the page.
At the bottom of the band or venue page, you may see a 'CLAIM PAGE' button. Click on the button and fill in your details, and we'll send you login details to take control of your page! No button? Perhaps this is a different band/venue? If you're unsure, drop us an email and we'll try to help.
Membership is free for 30 days, so you can see how Lemonrock works. During your free trial, you can add lots of information about your band or venue. If you decide to become a full member, you'll then feature in our 'newest' section, giving your band or venue more exposure.
If you run a chain of venues, you can be nominated by any Venue member to act as their Lemonrock Account Manager.
Each Venue member runs their own Venue page and manages their own gigs, but subscription payments are made by the Account Manager.
Venue members can set the Account Manager details in 'my membership', and from there, send an invitation to their Account Manager.
Account Managers can manage subscriptions for all their venues on their management page at:
Account Managers can also request a reset link from this page, if they cannot see their management page.
To transfer band page ownership, you have 2 options.
1. If you want to give your entire Lemonrock account over to another band member, you just need to change the member's name and email address in 'my details'.
After you have updated the name and email address, the other band member can then log in with their email address. For security purposes, the new member will have to request a password reset from:
Please note that, once this change is done, you will not be able to log back into Lemonrock, as you will effectively have transferred your membership to someone else.
Please email the new page owner with a link to the password reset page - https://www.lemonrock.com/resetpw.php
2. If you still want to keep your Lemonrock account, you can disown the band page at:
The other band member will then be able to claim the band page (it will gain a 'claim' button after you disown it). The other band member would join Lemonrock as a new 'Band/Artist' member.
To transfer venue page ownership, you have 2 options.
1. If you want to give your entire Lemonrock account over to another person, you just need to change the member's name and email address in 'my details'.
After you have updated the name and email address, the other person can then log in with their email address.
2. If you still want to keep your Lemonrock account, you can disown the venue page at:
The other person will then be able to adopt the venue page (it will gain a 'claim' button after you disown it). The other person would join Lemonrock as a new 'Venue' member.
Regular (repeating) Events
You can create a new gig by clicking 'add single gig' from the Edit menu, or by clicking 'New' in your 'my gigs' section.
In the gig form, choose the correct repeat period from the '1-off or repeat?' list, then set the repeat pattern by clicking the weeks when your gig is on, and then specify the start date and final date. Your event will then automatically show up in our listings until the final date(*). To keep your gig showing regularly in our gig guide, you should update the start and final dates before the final date; say every few months.
You can add extra information about any repeating gig date, such as specific information about each event, including support or guest acts. You can edit individual repeating gigs in the 'my repeating gigs' section.
You can also mark any specific repeating date as cancelled, postponed or moved to another date.
Repeating gigs that clash with one-off gigs at the same venue on the same date will not be included in the gig listings sections unless the start time is different to the one-off gig. This rule allows venues to create 'placeholder' gigs for regular gigs where the exact band/artist is not known in advance, but the venue wants to list all its gig dates. Once the band/artist has been confirmed, the venue creates a new one-off gig that will show instead of the repeating gig for that date.
(*) Please note: Repeating gigs are never allowed to appear automatically on 1st January, or on 25th or 26th December. If your repeating gig falls on this date, you will have to create a 1-off gig specifically.
Solution 1: specify the same start time for the 1-off gig
If the start time of the 1-off gig and the repeating gig are the same, the 1-off gig will take precedence, and the repeating gig will not show for that date. You don't need to edit the repeating gig in this case.
Solution 2: mark the repeating gig date gig as moved, postponed or cancelled
You can show that the repeating gig is moved, postponed or cancelled on a particular day. To mark one occurrence of a repeating gig as cancelled, go to 'my repeating gigs'. Select the date of the repeating gig, and edit it to show as 'MOVED, 'POSTPONED' or 'CANCELLED'.
Solution 3: Split the repeating gig into two repeating gigs
If there is a gap in the repeating sequence, and you don't want to show a non-existent gig as 'MOVED', 'POSTPONED' or 'CANCELLED' on the gap date, you can create two separate repeating gigs, either side of the date that doesn't exist. To do this, edit the repeating gig, then clone it, so that the 2 gigs are either side of the non-existent date. For example:
Weekly repeating gig 1st June - 1st December with gap date of 20th July
Solution:
1. Edit the repeating gig to show 1st June - 13th July
2. Clone the repeating gig and edit it to show 27th July - 1st December
Lemonrock's gig cloning makes it easy to add gigs that are repeat bookings.
If you have already added a gig to Lemonrock, and want to post another similar gig (same band, same venue), use the Clone option.
You'll find the Clone button on the EDIT menu (next to each gig), and also in the 'My Gigs' Edit section.
When you clone a gig, the original gig stays intact, and you create another gig that has all the same information, including the photo, as the original gig. Just change the date, and you're done.
If you want to post several repeat bookings on different dates, you can use the multi-gig feature instead.
If you want to post several identical gigs (same band and same venue), you can use the multi-gig feature.
Use this feature if your dates are unevenly spaced, or if you have a run of consecutive days. For regular weekly or monthly gigs, you can add a repeating gig instead.
To add identical gigs on different days:
1. Go to the 'My gigs' Edit section
2. Click the 'New' button.
3. Click the
+
button below the calendar to enter multi-date mode.
4. Select between 1 and 20 dates in the calendar. The gig dates don't have to be consecutive. If you have gigs booked for your band at the same venue, or gigs booked for the same band at your venue, over several months, you can add all those gigs at once.
5. Complete the gig form with the time, band and venue information. Be careful not to add any date-specific information to the gig descriptions that would conflict with the gig dates. You can always edit individual gigs later.
6. Click the 'Create multiple gigs' button to add all your gigs at once.
You can also clone a gig (make a copy of it for a new date) after it has been created.

You can use this in conjunction with your anti-spam software to ensure that you always receive emails from Lemonrock, instead of losing them to your spam filter.
Choose a unique, hard-to-guess word, that is known only to you. Include digits as well, to make your word even harder for spammers to guess.
Make sure that you update your spam filter, specifying this text.
For example, if you set this text to 'MUSIC 54321 XYZ', you can also specify in your email spam filter something like: 'If the Subject field contains "MUSIC 54321 XYZ" then treat the message as friendly mail'.
Please note that this phrase is sent in all emails from our site, so it can be seen by your email provider / ISP. It is not a password, but a security check. You are advised to use a phrase that you don't use anywhere else.

Security, e-mail addresses and passwords
You can ask us to automatically email you a reset password request by going to the reset password page.
You choose your own password when you join Lemonrock, but if you want to change it at any time, you can do this easily.
Go to the reset password page, request a reset password link and we'll send you an email with further instructions.
To change your login email address:
1. log in using your old email address
2. go to your my details section
3. change your email address and click on the 'Update details' button.
If you no longer have access to your email address, please contact us.
You will be logged out of Lemonrock and will need to reset your password on our reset password page.
Your password is stored in an encrypted format on our server.
Lemonrock also uses powerful industry-standard encryption techniques to guard your password from being viewed or used in a replay attack.
Your initial password is chosen by you. We recommend that you choose a strong password that you don't use on any other site or app. A strong password is one with a mixture of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
We maintain a list of the 10,000 most used passwords. You will not be allowed to use any password on this list.
If you forget your password, you can set it to something else by initiating a reset password request.
Yes, it matters. Passwords are case sensitive, so TqA8009 is different to TQA8009.
In order to add content to Lemonrock, your email address must be verified. When you join, we send you a welcome email, with a link to verify your email address.
If you don't receive your welcome email, please look in your email junk folder, as some emails are incorrectly filtered by some email programs.
To request your welcome email again, go to resendverifyemail.php. You must be logged in to re-request your welcome email.
Resetting your password will automatically re-verify your email address.
To reset your password, go to resetpw.php.
Many Microsoft email accounts (e.g. Hotmail, Outlook) will not deliver our emails to your inbox. There are known issues with Microsoft email systems, and Lemonrock recommends that you use a Gmail account, which is much more reliable.
If you have email forwarding set up on your Hotmail or Outlook account, our emails will never be delivered to your forwarded inbox. This is due to Microsoft's email software which does not re-write the necessary email headers, making our email fail integrity checks when it is forwarded. Please do not set up forwarding from Hotmail or Outlook for any emails from Lemonrock.
If our emails are not arriving in your inbox, this could be for several reasons.
1. You may have joined Lemonrock with the incorrect email address. Please make sure that you spell your email address correctly, with all the dots in the email address. For example, bobthomas1970@mail.com is different to bob.thomas1970@mail.com.
2. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider), such as Virgin or BT, may be mis-categorising our emails and putting them into a spam/junk/trash folder. Sometimes these folders may only be accessible online, using your ISP's web-mail system. On some occasions, your ISP may delete emails without telling you.
3. In some cases, you must ensure that emails sent by us are allowed into your inbox. All our emails are sent from the address "editor@lemonrock.com". Please ensure that this email address is in your list of trusted senders, and/or in your address book. This system is sometimes called "white-listing".
Our email systems are regularly tested for correct operation. If we find anything wrong, we will add a broadcast message to the website informing the public of the problem. However, so far we have never had to do this.
All the emails we send to you are signed electronically by the industry-standard SPF and DKIM. This proves that the person sending the emails is the owner of the domain (emails sent by us are from the domain lemonrock.com and contain headers that have the valid DKIM signature for that email). Anyone else pretending to be us will either have no DKIM signature in the email headers, or an incorrect DKIM signature.

Due to our restrictions to protect our server, you are not permitted to access Lemonrock content from a non-UK country without a special access key.
Only Band/Artist members and Venue members may obtain an access key.
You must use this access key as an extra parameter to all your csv.php or ical.php HTTP requests to Lemonrock.
The key gives your server the authority to access the contents of the CSV or iCal file.
To view your access key, please go to:
https://www.lemonrock.com/mysettings.php#:~:text=Access%20Key
Append this key to your URL, using &key=... or ?key=... as appropriate.
Miscellaneous
If your music type or venue type doesn't fit into any of our categories, Web-mail us a request, and we'll add it for you.
When you join Lemonrock, you join either as a Band/Artist member, or as a Venue member. Each type of membership has different restrictions:
As a Band/Artist Member:
- You can create a limited number of bands/artists ('your' bands and artists, which appear in 'my bands/artists')
- You can create gigs for your bands/artists at *any* venue
- When you create a gig, and the venue is not recognised, a new venue is created automatically, which you can then add contact details for. There is no limit to the number of new venues that can be created.
- You cannot create gigs for bands/artists that are *not* yours
As a Venue Member:
- You can create a limited number venues ('your' venues, which appear in 'my venues')
- You can create gigs for your venues for *any* artist or band
- When you create a gig, and the band/artist is not recognised, a new band/artist is created automatically, which you can then add contact details for. There is no limit to the number of new bands that can be created.
- You cannot create gigs for venues that are *not* yours
Yes. Band/Artist Members and Venue Members can log in and view their my statistics page. This shows you a graph of daily and monthly hits for your pages. You can download this information as a spreadsheet file. You can also see how many times your gigs have been listed.
The pink number is the number of times the gig has been shown in our listings (main gig listings page, venue's gig listing page, and band's gig listing page).
The yellow number is the number of times this gig was sent in email alerts to our members. We start sending these emails up to 2 weeks before the gig date, with the majority being sent in the 7 days before the gig.
The blue number is an estimate of the number of people that each gig will reach (be seen by in our listings). This based on our subscriber numbers, plus our visitor numbers. You can click on the blue number to see more about our reach calculation. See our Gig Reach Calculation page for more details.
Yes. Lemonrock pays PRS for Music a licence fee that allows you to post cover versions of licensed songs, recorded by you or your band, onto the site. You should put just one song into each MP3 file.
When you write a gig review, it is sent immediately to the band or artist you have reviewed.
The band/artist has the final say over whether or not to publish your review on their page.
Lemonrock has no control over whether reviews are shown or not, or if they are subsequently deleted by a band.
Lemonrock was created in 2000, when the race for good domain names was already in full stride. Lemonrock is a catchy name! It has nothing to do with lemons, or volcanic rock! But it is memorable!
The Artist of the Week (AOTW) and Venue of the Week (VOTW) are not randomly chosen. They are chosen according to a strict set of rules, but they are also checked manually before being given the awards. We look for bands and venues with complete pages - good descriptions, MP3s (or venue map), photos, reviews, gigs, etc, that we think will be of interest to the public.
You can select which types of gigs you receive (music, comedy, and other non-music gigs) in your personalised gig guide that we email to you.
In my details, set 'Type of gigs to include' to 'music only', 'music & comedy' or 'music, comedy & other non-music'.
Currently, you can list gigs in the UK and Ireland only.
If you have a gig in a foreign country, please add your gig at the general 'Non-UK venue' which is an option in the 'previous venues list' in the gig form.
Yes, our logos are free for you to re-use for press, media and publication purposes, if you are linking back to us or otherwise promoting our site. Our logos can be downloaded from our logos page.

You can also post ads if they are connected with live music in some way. The ad categories (for both wanted and offered) are: Band Members, Equipment, Instruments, Services and Misc, plus Bands Wanted (for venues only).
You can post up to one ad free of charge as a Music Lover member, or as a trial Band or Venue member. (Full Band or Venue members can post up to 5 separate ads).
You may not add gigs to the ads section.
If you are looking for a band, please search the Available Bands section instead.
Ads are automatically deleted after 90 days. After this time, please re-create your ad.
Ads are posted at your own risk. Lemonrock assumes no responsibility for any outcome of any ad posted on this site.

You can use Lemonrock Gig Feeds to show your gig listings on your own site. You only have to make a one-off change, and your own site will automatically stay updated with your Lemonrock gigs page.

If you try to place an ad in 'my ads' and you get a blank page, this is usually because your browser contains a built-in piece of software called an ad blocker (or advert blocker). Adblock Plus is a popular ad blocker. Unfortunately, some ad blockers prevent our advert form from displaying correctly. This is because they are programmed and cannot tell the difference between a real advert which you don't want to see on the web page, and a form where you are creating an advert.
Ad blockers are usually installed as add-ons or plug-ins to your browser.
To place an ad, please disable or remove your ad blocker in your browser, and return to the 'my ads' section.
You can see all our up-to-date statistics at:
You can see the page impressions, number of current gigs, bands and venues over the last 10 weeks, compared to last year. There are also totals for unique visitors, measured by distinct IP addresses.
Currently, you can list gigs in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Spain and the USA.
To change the country for a gig, click on the magnifying glass icon at the top-right of any page, to reveal the search section. Select the flag that corresponds to the country. Then close the search section.
Creating a gig for a foreign venue (Band/Artist members):
With the country set (see above), bands can specify a venue in the chosen country on the gig form. If the venue exists, it will appear in a list. If the venue does not exist, Lemonrock will show a list of suggestions based on the town you have typed. If the venue is not already on Lemonrock, it will be automatically created when you create the gig. You can then add extra information about the venue.
Creating gig for a foreign band (Venue members):

Yes. Bands and venues can enable fans and customers to contact them via WhatsApp. Just set 'Mobile chat via WhatsApp?' to 'Yes' in your band or venue profile, just below the mobile number field.
If you have set available dates, and people contact you via your Lemonrock available dates section, then the WhatsApp message you receive will be pre-populated with the date concerned.
A WhatsApp link will also appear on your main band or venue page, in the Contact Details section.
If Lemonrock detects that two gigs are scheduled for the same date, and involve the same venue and band, it will send emails to all relevant parties if they are paid-up Lemonrock members.
We also send out warnings if your band has more than one gig on the same day.
You can change your preferences for receiving these email warnings in your 'my settings' section.
If the gig is a festival, and several bands are playing, you can set the venue type to 'Festival', or include the word 'festival' in the venue name, to avoid these warnings being sent.
