What does it mean to rescue over one million pounds of food? It means 870,000 meals reached families who needed them most. It means preventing food waste, protecting our environment, and bringing the community together to ensure no one goes hungry.

Some of the highlights from 2025 include:

• Nearly 360 volunteers gave their own time and gas to complete more than 9,000 food runs

• We matched food donations from over 120 food contributor locations with over 100 partner recipient locations to ensure food reached those who needed it most.

• Prevented hundreds of thousands of pounds of food waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving valuable resources.

• Additional volunteers dedicated their time daily at our East Austin Hub to sort through donated food, ensuring that everything distributed was of grocery quality. This effort helps maintain the dignity of providing high-quality food to everyone.

• Funding from Glimmer Austin and JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Foundation allowed us to distribute over $20,000 in grocery gift cards to families to fill the SNAP Gap during the federal shutdown.

• Over 450 snack bags were distributed to students at the holiday break from school.
