I am writing to express my disappointment with the Arizona Capitol Times' one-sided article published April 12, "Planned Parenthood files to overturn AZ abortion laws." Your article lays out all the arguments that Planned Parenthood is asserting in its attempt to unilaterally overturn democratically-enacted state law, but neglects entirely to mention even one of the important public policy considerations that went into passing those laws in the first place.
Of course, as a practical matter, it really isn't noteworthy that Planned Parenthood should be bringing a suit to challenge laws unfavorable to its business.
The grants, approximately $700,000 in 2011, are but a fraction (0.067 percent) of Planned
Parenthood's total income of $1.048 billion.

The "study," sent along with an August 27th letter to the leaders of Congress, claims that the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) "edited content out of the alleged 'full footage' videos, and heavily edited the short videos so as to misrepresent statements made by Planned
Parenthood representatives."
The number of these health care facilities dwarfs the 665 clinics operated by Planned
Parenthood. Community health centers primarily exist to provide a full range of health care services to millions of uninsured, working poor and jobless Americans.

Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) performed 327,653 abortions in 2013.
