With the promise that they'll finally be granted freedom upon their return, this Wild Bunch, or Magnificent Seven, is quickly entrapped by the Woads, led by the mysterious Merlin (Stephen Dillane, all but unrecognizable in virtual Undead makeup).

THE STORY: In this big budget re-telling of the classic myth, Arthur (Owen) is a leader and warrior (half Briton and half Roman) who commands a band of rough 'n' tough knights for the Roman Empire, protecting Hadrian's Wall from the Woads (ancient Britons) in the North.

The Roman Empire is under assault, the Saxons have invaded and Arthur and his knights have one last mission ( to rescue an important Roman family from north of the Wall, an unruly area patrolled by half-naked "Woads" with painted faces and a ruler called Merlin.

After years of protecting the Empire, including skirmishes with the Woads (a painted race we'd know better as the Picts), his men have been promised their freedom and Artorius, or Arthur to his mates, is assured of a hero's welcome in Rome.

Bewildered extras dressed as woads (woodland folk) looked on as the two men stood eye to eye, hurling abuse at one another.
