Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)The primary objective of this federal program is to develop: 

• Develop adequate housing by safeguarding the affordable housing stock

• Increase the availability of decent, affordable housing, while implementing fair housing regulations

• Establish a suitable living environment through safe, habitable, and livable neighborhoods

• Expand economic opportunities through employment supported by living wage leading to self-sufficiency, and home ownership

• Implement activities that promote long-term community viability


Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)
Federal funding for the Development and Rehabilitation of affordable rental and ownership housing for low and moderate-income households.

This program is designed to create affordable housing for low-income households by building, buying, and/or rehabilitating affordable housing for rent or home ownership or providing direct rental assistance to low-income individuals. HOME funds for grants, direct loans, loan guarantees, forms of credit enhancements, rental assistance, or security deposits, are some of the program's greatest flexible opportunities. 

The important values and principles of the HOME program are empowering people and communities, and designing and implementing strategies tailored to the community's needs. In addition to expanding and strengthening partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector in the development of affordable housing. 

Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)

A federally funded initiative addressing the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness in emergency or transitional shelters to assist people to quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or experiencing homelessness. 

The program funding provides funding to:

• Engage individuals and families experiencing homelessness
• Improve the number and quality of emergency shelters for individuals experiencing homelessness
• Help operate shelters
• Provide essential services to shelter residents
• Rapidly re-house individuals and families experiencing homelessness
• Prevent families and individuals from becoming homeless
