Mission Statement

The Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) of the IEEE advances the application of engineering sciences and technology to medicine and biology, promotes the profession, and provides global leadership for the benefit of its members and humanity by disseminating knowledge, setting standards, fostering professional development, and recognizing excellence. As the flagship magazine for EMBS, IEEE PULSE connects and informs members as well as others across the globe on a broad variety of topics related to biomedical engineering, including advances in research, health care and wellness innovations, clinical applications, biomedical and health technologies, education, and ethical considerations. We publish both general and technical articles on current technologies and methods used in biomedical and clinical engineering in addition to articles on societal implications of biomedical technologies.
