Severely underrated soulful AOR with a tasteful jazz-fusion twist. Excellent songwriting, playing, production and design. Check out "Without Your Love For Me" and "Look What You've Done."

Best guess is because it was co-produced by Rogerio Azcárraga Jr who was involved in other Orfeon releases. The Azcárraga family is known for being a wealthy publishing/media dynasty in Mexico (similar to the Hearsts). This kind of deepens the mystery...

Interesting take, I've found quite the opposite. It's been a personal favorite for 20+ years and I still manage to notice new bits every time I listen.

It's all about Presence - Constrictor on this comp. Nasty hard rock/early heavy metal with FAT hard-hitting funky drums and swirling psychedelic vocals. One of those "I can't believe this isn't a bigger deal" tracks.

Most of the Comprehensive Video Supply Corporation series is pretty snoozy, straightforward and frankly useless by today's standards but check out the A1 track "Countdown" on this release. Totally fried, psychotic jazz with dubbed out sound effects...

That's awesome. Just got this recently and was wondering about the "Closet Phantom" credit! Great record, awesome story…seems like it was a lot of fun to work on.

This one is almost weird enough to work. "Sketches (A1)" and "Trumpet Sketches (B5)" are the same track, but with trumpet instead of vocals on the latter. Kind of has a bittersweet, budget 10cc thing happening at times. Ambitious, but...

I don't actively seek out '80s hard rock records, but the b-side track "Intensity" is an absolute earworm. Sounds best when you've listened to it 30 times in a row. Shame this never got a proper commercial release!

Check out "Cirlces" from this LP...the only song on the record written by keyboard player Rick Guidotti, and probably the only track on the record that has withstood the test of time. Strangely sincere & beautiful, depending on your tolerance level...

Grateful for this review. Just stumbled across this LP earlier today, absolutely blown away by the stereo vocal effects. They definitely knew what they were doing!

Pretty wild that there's not a single review of this masterpiece! "You" into "Look at California" is one of the greatest one-two punches on any record, regardless of genre. We're all fortunate that this can be found readily and cheaply...everyone needs a copy!
