David Bowie - Young Americans

Well, as we all know, this is partly a matter of taste, partly a matter of musical understanding. As for the taste, this is not your cup of tea, I understand. But for the music...... well, you're wrong. This is not poor songwriting at all. He has... See full review

Well... as a true connoisseur of experimental music and a German I have to disagree when it comes to the term "krautrock". We here in Germany don't find the term in any way negative, derogatory or offensive. Not at all, honestly. We use the term... See full review

Yes, exactly! Especially "You often forget" and "TV mind" are FAR better than the studio versions. And how I always loved "Cattle grind"! It was so amazing for me when it was finally released in its studio version on reissues of BS+Q.

Yes, definitely! This album influenced me so extremely in my youth. This and BS+Q..... I was in my teenage years when it came out and this was THE shit! Along with Skinny Puppy's "Ain't it dead yet?" and similar stuff.....

"Stainless Steel Providers" was never part of the original recording. It's from the BS+Q tour and was originally the b-side of the BS+Q remix 12". Therefore I personally prefer the versions without SSP. It somehow doesn't fit there..... different era.

Well, Nic Endo hasn't invented a new style of music here, that's right, but.... industrial? This one is not meant to be industrial at all. Actually it is a kind of electronic, experimental (future) jazz. Definitely a strong Coltrane and Sun Ra influence.

Yes, I do agree, but only for their very early releases: the first three EPs and the first album "Freaks". After the 3rd EP "Cenotaph" they began to change their sound more & more and gave up the harsh, raw and edgy sound and became far more "easy... See full review

This box, just like all the other Bowie-boxes which pop out since his passing, are - or seem to be - complete compilations of his periods of work. Therefore it is a very irritating fact that songs are simply omitted. This makes the boxes simply... See full review

Yes, the critics.... and there are also many fans who prefer Boy over October. For me personally October is to this day one of my favourite U2 albums. I like it far more than both, Boy and War. It has a very unique melancholic, autumnal atmosphere.... See full review

Ja, auf der Rough Trade-CD ist die 12" Version von Baby Turns Blue drauf. Um die Album-Version auf CD zu bekommen, braucht man die New Rose-CD oder am besten gleich die Mute/Grey Area-CD.

Does the Skysaw vinyl album really have a different mix of Kickin' Ass? I own the Skysaw CD which definitely has the same mix as all other issues.

Check this link: https://musicbrainz.org/release/89f91df2-b88c-4e8e-a7ef-f657bb483ee3. It lists all three versions of "Opium", also the cassette, which had a different tracklisting than the CD.
