This uses the USA original track list. It does not use the corresponding UK London Records track list (which add 1 track to each side of their issue)

I didn't like it, just sounded too fake. i know its a retrospective of his Sun Records output which he was only with it during the 70s so it did sound 'modern' back then but his vocals just didn't sell it for me. Oh well whatever your tastes.

This would have been my preferred front cover, it certainly stands out!

funny how the Australia 1988 remastered issue still used the 1964 Australian designed cover art and not finally issue the original UK gatefold concept.

One of the best designed front covers Hipgnosis, very well and technically executed.

A shame that all CD reissues forget to include the original inner sleeve plus the fold out lyrics sheet (you only get the lyrics not but not the graphics) in
favour of unseen photos.

can i raise 3 possibilities:
- some New Zealand issues might have been issued with imported Australian made LPs with the New Zealand covers as i have a copy as such (i bought recently in Oz not originally bought as new)

This was first released in May 1986, and the Steve Hoffman chat says an repressing (date no mentioned but probably 1989) with the fades fixed was also issued.

Steve Hoffman chat says there was definitely a repressing which fixed all the chop off's. Good luck finding it though.

Agreed, one of the scarcest to find where the folds are intact and the fold hinges are not worn out or even removed.

And still the Jimi Hendrix set is far from completely uncut.
