Los Angeles pressing. If it's an original it will have Burbank palm trees labels.

Listen for the end of side one as well, one has party noises at the very end, the other version doesn't. People who know this album well will be able to tell which one it is. The SQ version will also sound phasey when played in normal stereo, with... See full review

Wings (2) - Back To The Egg

A US original has more top end and is just as lively as the UK. It's THE version on vinyl to buy (until they possibly reissue it as a half speed master or something), even if a little noisier vinyl. Yes, I agree with others, this album is far from... See full review

It's close between this and the Ram album in mono which is worth more. Thousands of Pounds, Dollars, whatever. Half a year's wages?Would be nice to get a BTTE box and have him issue a picture disc as part of the vinyl versions when it comes out (Like... See full review

I tried to talk myself out of this at the record store. There were a bunch of other new releases today 8/2. I failed and brought one home. Got a free poster of the album cover and middle finger on other side. Haven't opened it up yet, but from the... See full review

It's pretty good. Some surface noise, definitely needs cleaning before play. Mix is lively, maybe a tad bright. Played mine on a Technics SL-D1 with a micro line stylus through a Yaquin tube preamp.
Neil Young - Landing On Water

I prefer this vinyl pressing to my Quiex copy. Less noisy. Carrollton was a pretty good pressing plant. Seek them out for Sony CBS artists, especially 80s albums. Like the Rolling Stones.

Some pressings are 'secret' Quiex virgin vinyl pressings. Held up to the light, the record will be translucent brown. Supposed to have superior sound, and generally speaking, they do. YMMV. My favorite pressing of this album is the Columbia House... See full review

A missed opportunity to release an expanded edition with not only the CD only track, 'Bill', but also include the standard full length versions of every song. They could have added the bonus tracks from the era (like what's on the Dual disc, such as... See full review

These are 100% legit copies from 1988. Some may be white marbled on both discs. I had a copy with one solid white and one marbled. Legit copies have a letter D in runouts and no Chinese markings. Counterfeits will have The Beatles in grey on the front... See full review

Do another vinyl and CD run. If it's limited at least make it 3 or 4K of each.

This CD does NOT have an SACD layer, regardless of the DSD information in the booklet. This is the most recent version on CD still in print as of 2022. Be aware of what you are buying on big box websites like Amazon.

500 Dollars? Come on. You're obviously crazy. BTW, Even if Michelle Obama is trans, so what? It says more about you than anything else. Where is your mind at? I'm not an Obama fan myself , but come on now. It's 2021. Try to be an adult, at least a little. See full review

It like to see someone compare the mixes for this and the new 2021 remix. I don't have this version but I'm getting the new remix, pressed by GZ instead of Optimal, soon.

On their own, this isn't a bad set. It's just that compared with originals (even original US copies) the box set doesn't hold up. My box also had quite a few records with smudges, fingerprints, no-fill and heavy dust (all typical GZ complaints). If... See full review

How's the sound? 25 minutes or so a side? Joe can't use Rainbo to cheaply press stuff anymore (while asking a premium price), so who pressed the Missing Links series for him?

Hopefully they do better than Rainbo to press the next reissue. They're out of business but there's still MRP and GZ to get it wrong.

Another Wal-Mart score! Don't buy from overpriced flippers! Check your Walmart, Barnes or favorite indie shop. Think global - act local. Peace!!

Actually it's not. If you had a chance to buy this colored vinyl, you missed out! This is the same as the European Back to Black issue. Pressed by GZ.

There is a reissue coming out tomorrow the 29th of May from Rhino. Are they any better than a US original though? Those are easy to come by for cheap and sound good.

Right. I'm wondering who Joe used for the new yellow vinyl pressings? Seemingly Kevin likes RTI. They also used to be much better about 10 years ago or so but are still better than the Rainbow of the 2000s.

Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

It could be a needle drop of an original vinyl issue. If so, it's definitely worth taking a chance on, if it's around 30 dollars US, IMO. Cut from CD or digital would definitely be a waste.

How does this vinyl issue sound? Originals are pricy and it looks like flippers in Japan are ending up with them. Hopefully this isn't an issue for too much longer and we see a decent vinyl reissue, MOV or Rhino.

Out of print and of course sky high prices now. Blinked and you missed it, kind of deal. Sounds great. This gives me hope for a future vinyl reissue of Floored and or 14:59 by MOV.

I ended up getting it as it came back in stock. For a double on one record, it's not bad. Its a bootleg, so you can't expect the great sound the original most likely has. It sounds boxy and compressed but not overly so. Low noise floor for the vinyl,... See full review

I have this one and the Mob Rules re issue still sealed. Not sure if I want to open them now that I see GZ pressed them. The noise floor is probably high and I know I'll have some no-fill, maybe some pits or pock marks in the grooves. The fun of GZ... See full review
