posted a review of Rick Wakeman With The London Symphony Orchestra* And The English Chamber Choir - Journey To The Centre Of The Earth. over 2 years ago
The vocals at the word "crystal" are awful. Mono tone high speed out of tune. I literally did a double take. I'm playing the radio airplay vesrion and don't understand what diffrence. Not Wakeman at his best.

Duane Allman on Electric Guitar. Everytime I put on a Laura Nyro album I think she was the perfect music writter and performer. Every song takes you on a journey.
Storm (66) - Storm
posted a review of Storm (66) - Storm. over 3 years ago
To busy to know what the other player is doing. This is pop, rock and punk but really none of those styles of music. Storm was a band trying to be everything.
Lesley Gore - California Nights
posted a review of Lesley Gore - California Nights. over 3 years ago
Batman TV series in 1967 episode, "That Darn Catwoman". Gore played Pussycat, the Catwoman's protégé, who also wanted to be a singer. Batman is where you most likely heard California Nights for the first time.
Clarence Carter - Hooked On Love
posted a review of Clarence Carter - Hooked On Love. over 3 years ago
Fantastic album with stories songs. Let's just say Grandpa Can't Fly His Kite is not about a kite. Not a bad song on this album. So risque but you expect that.
Jules Shear - The Eternal Return
posted a review of Jules Shear - The Eternal Return. over 3 years ago
Hidden treasure of music. Great version of If She Knew What She Wants. Add Anton Fig on drums and Tony Levin on bass you know it all is good.
Dirty Deal (4) - Dirty Deal

My Red vinyl back of the jacket has written 73/90 so maybe there was only 90 Red Vinyl made.
The Rolling Stones - Stoned Again (Special DJ Edits)
posted a review of The Rolling Stones - Stoned Again (Special DJ Edits). over 3 years ago
Longer intro or outtro. Much more low end then normal. The body of the music is close to what you know from each song. These are dance versions but not overdone. Jumpin Jack Flash the snare is so pronounced. 2023
King Biscuit Boy - Gooduns

The Funnies (2) - SMILE!
posted a review of The Funnies (2) - SMILE!. over 3 years ago
This is NOT the Partridge Family nor Wrecking Crew. Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted has some of the most over the top backing vocals. Smile is one of the first records I had as kid. Sadly this is really bad.
Various - Heavy Hits
posted a review of Various - Heavy Hits. over 3 years ago
The Who's Won't Get Fooled Again doesn't have the drum solo. Actualy this has some great songs from many genres.
Various - Winners

Songs start when the first vocal appears. Not likethe regular versons. Boston More Than a Feeling has a abrupt ending, it was shocking.

First off you can understand the vocals and some cool drum fills. Jacket title to get your attention. Exocet Alley is uncensored and will make you want to look at the lyrics. This was recorded real well.

Pre Huey Lewis and The News. When Huey Louis takes the lead vocals the songs will sound familiar. The songs are uptemp with Doo-Wop sound at times. Robert "Mutt" John Lange Produced this album. The UK album jacket looks different. John McFee brings... See full review

I really like this time capsule of Disneyland in 1958. All the music is enjoyable. Seems almost like it was recorded live in front of Disney fans.
Jack Starr - Out Of The Darkness

Unexped how much this album rocks. Kind of the Joe Lynn Turner Rainbow years sounds. The album cover doesn't really show you how much this album is 80's hard rock.

A great debut album. This is a hidden treasure album. To me I hear a Guess Who style and a few other bands you like. Dirt Band puts thought into the songs and you can tell they let the studio show them some sound effects.
