Also got mine from Juno a while back. Unfortunately, my copy is basically a turd pressing: littered in stock marks, crackles, and a couple of tiny non-fill streaks.

Probably sourced from a digital transfer, but still a great, rich-sounding version of this album. No issues with noisy vinyl, and the packaging is excellent.

Judging by the promo photo I'm seeing on Diskunion, I wouldn't be surprised if they referenced the reissue for the cover art. Unfortunate since I prefer the artwork of the original much more.

Decently pressed and mastered. A bit of surface noise on my copy, but nothing that disturbs the listening experience.
On a different note, can we stop using the word "deluxe" to market records with bare bones packaging? |

High noise floor. Lots of mild crackling too. Might be too bothersome for the audiophile crowd, but the music is loud enough to bury most of it.

Just like the other commenters said: The variant is a sheer beauty of oceanic gold, but the noise floor is high and the record plays through like a campfire.

Might be a boring take, but I would personally go with the colored clear variants instead of some kooky-looking splatter. Not only does it look meh, but you can actually hear the noise floor jumping around when the needle runs over the splatter streaks.

Surprised that no one mentioned it, but there's a misprint on the Obi strip with all the copies of the reissue. It says "TRONTO" where it should say "TORONTO".

Strange how this wasn't considered for a reissue when there was that recent wave of vinyl reissues for rare '60s/'70s Japanese rock titles. Maybe the master tape has become lost at this point, but that doesn't mean Polydor shouldn't reissue this....

The mastering is alright, although there are some distortion issues with the last track on both sides. But, that might just be due to how this was originally recorded.

I've owned a small handful of modern Kranky releases, and I've come to the conclusion that the average noise floor on their pressings are pretty low. My guess is that they press their records with virgin vinyl or the like.

Never heard any other vinyl version to compare, but the sound quality on this is quite good: loud, but clear and crisp. Packaging is also excellent. Nice Stoughton tip-on gatefold jacket with listening notes and a neat art print. I prefer the gatefold...

Not VMP's best effort by any means. The master sounds compressed and has distortion issues. You can hear the "S's" on top of Andre and Big Boi's voices on certain tracks like Jazzy Belle and Babylon. Not sure if that's partially to do with the actual...

People will buy it because it's a collector item. Reissues will always exist, but there are only so many copies of the original pressing, and it just so happens to be rare and extremely difficult to find.
