MF Doom – MM..Food

I was lucky enough to snag one of their overstock copies from last year. Just like others have echoed, this pressing is genuinely superb. The mixing is perfect and the vinyl quality is one of the most pristine I've ever heard from VMPs catalogue. Gets an A+ from me.

Phenomenal pressing, VMP did a good job. The vocals are so crisp and clear and the instrumentals are behind it without being overbearing. Love the color of the LP, suits the color theme of the album very well.

I have just put the VMP version up against the original 2004 pressing. The VMP version stand no chance comparing to the original. The soundstage of the original is obviously much larger, with better instrumental separation, you can easily pin point where each instrument coming from. Dynamic range is also much better on the OG press, where bass goes deeper & high notes are sharp but not unpleasant. The VMP also sounds more compressed, but not too bad. If you are a casual listener, then the VMP serves well. But hardcore fan definitely need the OG version. Plus, Kookies has its original Sesame theme sample on the OG!

I have a copy that has 2 x White Vinyls (Side 3/4) and no Green Vinyl (Side 1/2). It was an error and I got a replacement copy. If anyone wants this just message me. Besides missing the Green Vinyl it's a Mint copy.

sounds insanely good. vocals shine over the beats, which i can’t say is the case when listening on spotify. phenomenal pressing, for real.

A+ pressing, sounds perfect to me, no complaints whatsoever. Doesn't suffer from sibilant vocals like a lot of rap on vinyl.

I've look at reviews of this on amazon and heard that the song is order is wrong. I think this problem might only be for the normal vinyl color edition though because people have only posted pictures in their reviews of that pressing (even though the listing is this version). Can some one confirm if the song order is off on this pressing?

Absolutely love some of the instrumentals on this album, so much creative sampling and lyrics. This record's a classic for sure. I have yet to obtain this record though.

I literally slept on this record for about six instances in my existence, last night I finally heard this record in it's entirety. I was already on the superhero tip, watching some episodes of STAS (SUPERMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES - for the uninitiated) and was ready to digest something a little on the Marvel side. I was blown away by the beatboxing, the sample, and the storytelling on "Hoe Cakes" - and if we're talking instrumentals ... DOOM's production on the track was nothing short of breathtaking as his sample game throughout the LP amalgamated soul samples with wacky Marvel Comics radio shows to tell a cohesive story about his and Von Doom's shared alter-ego - sprinkling in fantastical legend ("KON QUESO") with reality raps ("Deep Fried Friendz") to make a mouthwatering blend.
The guests on this LP held their weight as well - Angelika on "Guinessez" spit standout bars about love won and lost and the cost of a courtship ; Mr. Fantastik wen't bar for bar with Doom and had "Rap Snitch Knishes" looking more like a pivotal issue of Fantastic Four where Marvel's First Family comes into the clutches of Doom, yet somehow miraculously Mr. Fantastic is forced to work with Doom due to both of their respective geniuses so hard to ignore. Even Count Bass D on the most underwhelming track "Potholderz" was able to provide a stellar hook, in which , throughout Doom's catalogue I have found to be his only chink in his near impenetrable armor. And Madlib!'s production on "One Beer" has sonics not to be forgotten which would make any longtime listener petition Doom's Hideout and one of those churches in Notre Dame for another Madvillian team-up. Shout out to Atmosphere because, Rhymesayers did it again, putting their name behind another masterpiece - proving that hip-hop is more than rhyming words together over some synthesized drums.
"MM...Food", storytelling at it's finest on a late night after watching Saturday morning cartoons. Don't enjoy this with any food coloring though - "It's Poiiiiison!" ("Gumbo").

Heavy tip on jacket, great sounding vinyl. Classic DOOM. Now sold out on Vinyl Me Please.
