A mere two days after the series finale of The Boys, Prime Video dropped the trailer for Vought Rising, the prequel series starring Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy in the 1950s.

Created by Paul Grellong, who served as a writer and executive producer on the last three seasons of The Boys, Vought Rising depicts the early years of Vought International, the corporation that created “supes.” Ackles co-stars and co-produces with Aya Cash, who reprises the role of Clara Vought (later Stormfront), the wife of Compound V creator Frederick Vought.

The Voughts’ Nazi background appears to be emphasized by experimentation on an unwilling Black test subject (Bridgerton‘s Jorden Myrie), who eventually escapes and turns the tables on his captors. Other shots make it clear the show will remain as bloody as other releases in the “Vought Cinematic Universe,” complete with what appears to be a cow exploding after being injected with a compound.

Vought Rising will also see the return of Mason Dye as Bombsight, and introduce Will Hochman (Blue Bloods) and Elizabeth Posey (Heels) as his fellow supes Torpedo and Private Angel. Lead cast members in undisclosed roles consist of KiKi Layne (The Old Guard), Nicolo Pasetti (The Law According to Lidia Poët), Ricky Staffieri (The Bear), and Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe).

The series will premiere sometime in 2027. In the meantime, all five seasons of The Boys are available to stream now, along with its prior spin-offs Diabolical, and the recently canceled Gen V. Another spin-off, The Boys: Mexico, created by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Blue Beetle) and starring Gael García Bernal (Werewolf by Night), is currently in the works.
