Can anyone suggest a yohrzeit reminder app. Needs to be clever enough to alert before shabbos and yom tov
We offer Yahrtzeit reminders via email, and you can choose when to receive them. See
here.
I would appreciate a Shabbat calendar that lists the Torah reading for that service.
Thanks for your note. The Hayom app lists that information as does our calendar which you can conveniently print out at
chabad.org/calendar
Hello!!
Here’s what this Jew needs—
PHASE I
1). I need a mobile-phone compatible App with the daily prayers.
2). It should include transliterations (with adjustable font-sizes).
3). It should include audio so students could follow-along, hear, & repeat the correct pronunciations, while reading the transliterations.
BONUS POINTS FOR:
A). iPhone compatibility
B). Notes explaining when, where, how, etc. to say each prayer.
C). Any other important information.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
1). Additional Phases/Prayers, etc. could be launched as new Apps are developed.
2). There are many of us living in isolated and rural settings.
3). Technology could help bridge gaps for Jews of every age, knowledge-base, background, & observance.
4). Yes, I would GLADLY pay for this dream-App.
5). Yes, I have purchased/used Danny Ben-Gigi’s wonderful resource, but CD’s don’t respond-well to repeats & restarts over-time.
6). APOLOGIES if this comment appears harsh. It was definitely not my intent.
Thank you Shira for suggestion. My chattan builds apps for phone private message me. Great suggestions you gave !elisheva
I do know during Shabbat sundown technology is forbidden 🚫 at Shabbat Times in the nightfall on Fridays and Saturdays but are there Shabbat nights while we can use Shabbat apps with restrictions like browser free technologies like kosher cellphone 📱 or Other devices kosher safe telecommunications devices technology or other Artificial Intelligence technological devices and applications within the environment of hands free
To quote/paraphrase my colleague Aron Moss, "It is not (the nature of the) work that is forbidden on Shabbos, but rather creative work.
During the working week we strive to make the world a better, safer and more comfortable place. We use our human ingenuity to invent, build, develop and improve the world around us. But on the seventh day we step back into ourselves. We take a break from trying to change the world and we appreciate the innate beauty of the world that G‑d created. Instead of altering our surroundings we enjoy them. Rather than utilize the amenities that technology has given us we enjoy the blessings that G‑d has given us - love, family, friendship, meditation, and just being human.
Shabbos is a like a dream-world, and we enter this dream-world by leaving the mundane world (of technology) behind. Even the smallest disturbance — like pressing a button — would bring us crashing back down to earth. And there's nothing worse than waking up from a dream before it's over."
I'm disabled, getting out is very difficult at times. I would love an app like this. I have family that know nothing about being a Jew. Ours is a way of life. Religions.....not so much. I'm trying to share what I know but I'm no teacher and don't want to make mistakes. This app would be amazingly helpful if created.
Thank you very much
Is there an app so I know which bracha to make? For example, a library of food items like what bracha to make on a rice cake with peanut butter.
Beautiful library of ways to connect our souls to each other and HASHEM. Thank you!
unfortunately some I had to download the apk, because the google play store does not provide old apps for newer systems... But thanks for everything.
Can you add a rabbi who says the Tehillim with you as you read it?
We currently feature a rabbi saying the Tehillim on the daily study app.
Hi can you make your apps in Amazon store as well, Please
I purchased the siddur and new Tehillim app for android but I recently switched to an iPhone,
Do I need to purchase the apps from the App Store again? Or is there a way I can get the app purchase linked to my email so that I can enjoy it on my iPhone without having to purchase it again?
Thanks for purchasing the Siddur and Tehillim apps!
Due to the different operating systems of Android and Apple devices that is not possible, you will need to download them again on your iPhone. You might be able to request a refund from the Google play store.
Love the app. Been very helpful and instrumental in my life.
Happy now ☺️
Thanks 😊 for this helpful App! The work you all do to teach Torah and make it accessible to all is a blessing. I wouldn't know how to pray 🙏 Ha Omer without your help...
This is the BEST omer counter I have found, and it's free!!!
Is there an app to show where religious families are moving into certain neighborhoods?
Is there a Tehillim download (Chabad)?
Is there a Hebrew/English calender app?
You can find the Hebrew/English calendar on the Hayom app.
Thank you! 👍
Is there a daily prayer app.
Yes, we have three different prayer apps available. Choose the one that suits your needs at chabad.org/apps
These are all great programs, how can I save them to refer back? Thank you for sending this.
Are any of these available on KaiOS? I just bought the HMD Barbie phone, which runs on KaiOS and I'd really love to be able to use them on that phone
