For the 2026/27 membership period, British Marine membership fees will increase by 3%. This applies consistently across all sectors in membership.

The increase reflects:

  • Rising operating costs, including venues, staffing, technology and core services
  • Maintaining service quality, ensuring we can continue to deliver high‑quality events, support and representation without reducing activity
  • Financial resilience, allowing British Marine to plan sustainably for the future

The 3% increase was agreed by the British Marine Board, following careful consideration of operating costs, financial planning and the need to keep any increase modest and transparent.

The increase supports our ability to:

  • Represent and champion the UK marine industry at national and international level
  • Deliver high‑quality events, training and networking opportunities
  • Support specialist groups and sector‑specific activity
  • Invest in partnerships, policy work, communications and member support
  • Continue developing services that add value to your membership

Yes. The increase is applied consistently across the membership, in line with British Marine’s existing fee structure.

The 3% increase helps British Marine remain financially resilient during a period of ongoing cost inflation. By making modest, planned adjustments rather than reactive changes, we can continue to deliver consistent services, support members effectively, and absorb rising costs without sudden or more significant fee increases in future years. This approach supports long‑term stability for both the organisation and our members.

For the majority of our members, renewal invoices will be issued on or around 1 June, with payment due by 30 June.

For members who joined over the last year and are on rolling membership, you will receive your renewal invoice around 1 month before your 12 month term expires.

British Marine offers several payment options to suit your needs. In addition to BACS or credit card payments, we can also provide an interest‑free Direct Debit option, spread over six equal monthly payments between July and December.

To set up or confirm a Direct Debit instruction, please email directdebit@britishmarine.co.uk on receipt of your invoice, mandates in place by 20 June will commence over 6 equal payments between July and December.

If you have British Marine credit from referring a new member, this may also be used towards your subscription. Please contact declaration@britishmarine.co.uk to arrange this.

Members who do not renew will also lose access to:
