The San Antonio Spurs are a professional American basketball team established in 1967 and located in San Antonio, Texas. They have won five NBA championships (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014). Originally named the Dallas Chaparrals in the American Basketball Association (ABA), the team relocated and was renamed the Spurs in 1973.
