Ivan Gough

It's fair to say that if there was an Australian Dance Music hall of fame, Ivan Gough would be in it. Whether you're talking about Dj'ing or producing, Ivan Gough is not only one of Australia's most accomplished dance music exports, he's also one of its very first. A true, 100% 'fair dinkum' electronic music pioneer, his rare talent in the studio has conjured a career that many artists only dream of, while his notorious skills in the booth have rocked dancefloors across the globe – from Ibiza to New York, Canada to the UK, and everywhere in between. Over the years Ivan's records have made it into the playlists of the worlds best DJ's like old school legends Sasha and Paul Oakenfold, and the more recent class of top DJ's like Roger Sanchez, Eric Morillo and Axwell. Ivan's records have also been getting regular plays on Pete Tong's influential Radio 1 show “the essential selection” in the UK, with one of his TV Rock remixes (with Grant Smillie) getting the coveted “essential new tune”. He also has more releases (and remixes) to his name than any other Australian, with dozens of records and cds bearing his name. Over the years Ivan has produced Progressive house, deep house, trance, and breaks, making arguably the first breaks record in Australia with Phil K and Andy Page in 1997. More recently he has turned his hand to Electro and Big room house. Not only is he renowned for his enthusiasm, flair and technical prowess in the studio, but on the decks his legendary track selection and brand of main room tunes (often his own!) have seen him tour nationally and internationally on a prolific basis. As 1 half of TV Rock with Grant Smillie, Ivan has had 8 No.1 dance tracks on the ARIA club chart, more than anyone else, but it was their smash hit “Flaunt It” that broke all the records. The duo garnished 2 ARIA's for the track, selling more than 150,000 copies and going double platinum, as well as holding the record for the longest running Australian track in the ARIA top 10 ever. Ivan and Grant continued to dominate charts around the country and the world with their next single “In The Air” featuring Rudy which hit #1 on the Australian club chart and flew up the Billboard chart in the UK. In 2012 Ivan collaborated with up and coming Melbourne DJ's Feenixpawl and Perth vocalist Georgi Kay to create the smash hit “In My Mind” which went on to become one of his biggest successes yet. Winning the Australian ARIA and APRA Award for best dance release, the track was also Grammy nominated, and scored over 40million views on YouTube. The track was recently remixed by Dynoro to create one of the biggest dance tracks of 2018/2019. More recent projects include L’tric and his current collaboration with “The Journey” as “tjig”.
