From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Opera GX is a web browser targeted towards gamers. Announced at E3 in 2019 and launched on June 19th on the same year.

Opera GX (and/or other Opera products) have been considered very unsafe due to privacy concerns and shady business operations from their parent company Kunlun Tech Limited.

Logo (June 19, 2019-)

Visuals: In a dark atmosphere, a red stylized O shines in the center of the screen. It then stops shining and zooms back fast. The text "Opera GX" then slowly fades in along with 2 notes in the audio.

Variants:

  • There is an early variant with slightly modified animation
  • During the 2023 "Bury Boring" advertising campaign, after the animation finishes, two X's are drawn into the hole of the icon, followed by it dripping. after this is finished, a chroma keyed Eric Andre appears from the bottom of the screen, who yells "Opera GX!"

Technique: Might be a mix of CGI and 2D Animation, however its likely just CGI.

Audio: It starts with a high-pitched chime, followed by 2 ascending notes.

Audio Variants: For the Bury Boring variant, it begins with the chime like the regular logo. But when the X's come on-screen, there are 2 slicing sounds, followed by Eric Andre yelling at the end.
