Google Play is Google's digital distribution service and the official app store for Android devices. It launched in 2008 under the name "Android Market" only offering apps for Android. In 2012, Android Market changed its name to Google Play, and it also introduced Play Music (retired in 2020), Play Books, and Play Movies & TV (rebranded to Google TV in 2020), and also Google Play Games (an online gaming service for Android) later launched in July 2013. It's one of the biggest app stores to date alongside Apple's App Store, the Play Store has over 2.7 million apps on February 2017 and 82 billion downloads in 2016.

1st Logo (March 3, 2016)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a rounded equilateral triangle with a corner facing towards the right colored red, blue, green, and yellow in different sections. Next to it are the words "Google Play" in white.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: So far, seen only on Bling.

2nd Logo (April 2016-)

Visuals: Just the Google Play icon (a rounded equilateral triangle with a corner facing towards the right colored red, blue, green, and yellow in different sections) on a white (if the device is on light mode) or gray (if the device is on dark mode) background.

Variant: Until July 25, 2022, the icon had brighter colors, and the corners were less rounded.

Technique: A digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: It is seen when you open the Google Play app on an Android tablet or a phone.

3rd Logo (June 30-October 12, 2017)

Visuals: On a white background, there is the triangle from before. It then jumps a little bit and moves to the left to make room for the grey words Google Play (set in the corporate font of Google, Product Sans) wipe in next to the play button. After that, the entire logo fades out, leaving behind the background.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on A Stork's Journey and the Google Play release of Amityville: The Awakening.

4th Logo (2025)

Visuals:On a white background, the google play icon is seen. The blue turning into gray text is "Go Play". The icon flips and it changes into "Google Play".

Technique: Digital effects.

Audio: 5 beats.

Availability: Can be seen on the "Download Apps, Not Traps" ads.
