VENTO history

Vento Motorcycles is a company which previously imported motorcycles and bike parts from major companies in order to sell them to the US customers. However, thanks to the increasing number of clients, Vento established its first plant in 1998, somewhere near Laredo, Texas. Moreover, the company brought new offices in San Diego, California in order to provide customer support and marketing services related to the Vento motorcycles.

Beside all of these, the company managed to establish a national network of more than 175 dealers around the country but the Vento sales grew up a lot even outside the United States. For example, the year 2003 came with 17,840 Vento motorcycles sold in the United States and with a total of 77,600 units sold in other countries, including Chile, Guatemala, Mexico or Russia.

Although it is mostly based on the US office, Vento Motorcycles struggles to expand its operations into multiple European countries. For instance, the company recently released a research and development center in Italy which is supposed to come with new technologies and solutions supposed to be installed on its motorcycles. Moreover, the company established a design team in Australia which is responsible for the design of the motorcycles.

Since it was founded, Vento only released three important motorcycles: the Gladiator XLS, the Rebellian and the V Thunder XL. The 2005 model of the Vento V Thunder XL came with an air cooled, V-Twin, 4 stroke engine with a displacement of 249 cmc producing 24 horsepower at 700 rpm and a torque of 11.6 lb-ft at 6000 rpm.

The Vento Gladiator XLS, the 2004 model, is pretty much the same as the V Thunder XL, being equipped with an air cooled, single cylinder engine which could produce 14 horsepower at 9000 rpm. One of the main differences is that the Gladiator XLS is equipped with a belt final drive while the Thunder XL comes with chain final drive.
