    I bought this as supplemental reading for the audible great courses lives of the famous Greeks. The prose is dense and not at all inspiring. There is a lot of information so it may serve as an adequate reference text but I do not expect to use this as pleasure reading. I would only recommend this to people who have to buy it for a class. Even the I suspect the internet might be better and cheaper.
