Sacramento Weather Forecast

Cooler temperatures continue through the work week with breezy conditions. The high country has showers and snow showers in the forecast.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — An area of low pressure is keeping unsettled weather around and temperatures across the region are still well below normal.

Isolated valley showers and thunderstorms are possible but the main focus is and will continue to be the Sierra.

A Weather Impact Alert is in effect for the Sierra Wednesday and Thursday due to the out of season weather. Temps are in the 40s and there are rounds of off and on rain with flurries possible above 7,000 ft. Especially if you have hiking or boating plans, keep an eye on the weather. Things can and do change quickly.

Showers and flurries in the Sierra continue through Thursday. Isolated shower and thunderstorm chances continue in the valley though most stay dry.

Low pressure overhead will bring Sierra showers and snow showers at the higher elevations continuing through Thursday. There will likely be a couple of thunderstorms that develop as well, but they do not look to bring any severe potential. In the valley, there is potential for an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Even if you do see a shower, totals will remain around a few hundredths of an inch.

Next week, summer-like temperatures return to the area, with highs back into the mid/upper 80s by Sunday, then low to middle 90s in the extended forecast.
