BtVS and AtS writers unite!

It's time to pick out your costume, start carving those pumpkins, and decide on goodies to share because it's almost time for the 2021 session of Buffyverse Top 5!

That means recs for all fanworks in the Whedon fandoms. Our kickoff is on October 22, 2019 at midnight UTC (click here for your time zone). The session will run across Halloween in all timezones and close on November 2 midnight UTC.

We are 13 days away from the kickoff of the first annual all-in-one buffyversetop5 session which will open at Midnight GMT on October 24 and run until Midnight GMT on November 2. As in the past, this Halloween session will be open for Classic Recs. But we're also going to have a new event -- FlashForward Weekend, October 27 and 28, for your 2018 recs!

Before you happily kick 2017 to the curb, remember the things that were actually good about it, such as Buffyverse fanworks!

Gifting your fellow fans some lovely items to start the coming year with is a great way to spread a little cheer to all those wonderful writers, artists, vidders, mods, and more who have given you something to smile (or maybe cry) about during 2017.

buffyversetop5 will reopen for its 2017 session on January 1, 2018 at midnight UTC (check that in your time zone) and will remain open through 6 PM GMT on January 16th.

So start checking your download folders, your tags, your bookmarks and memories to see what you enjoyed this year and what you want to make sure the Buffyverse community doesn't miss from 2017. If you want to help spread the news, several artists have made us starter treats to entice friends to the party. If you have any questions about the session, ask them here!

Five days for you to bring your all-time favorite recs of fics, vids, graphics, anything and everything fandom has produced in all the Whedon fandoms! All time periods before 2017 are eligible for posting and, as always, crossover content is A-OK, so get those lists ready!

We also want to alert anyone following us here that, following the movement of many people to Dreamwidth, either primarily or exclusively, we are opening the Dreamwidth outlet to posts during this session. So whether you want to post here or there, we hope to see names old and new here soon. Let us known if you have questions!

Hi,

I’m new but I thought I would post this anyway in the hopes of finding help and new friends. I am looking for a Beta Reader. My story is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer with some Angel crossing over.  I am rather despite to find a Beta because the person I was working with decided to quit the story leaving me hanging. My story is a romance/drama and is an AU with a Spike/Original character (Main pairing), Angelus/Original character, and implied in flashbacks Spike/Angelus/ Original character parings. It’s rather long as of now its 45,707 words and I’m not even close to being done yet. If I haven’t scared you off by now here is what I would like help on. I really want someone I can bounce ideas off of it helps me the most with my writing. Also, Spelling and grammar, plot, characterization of the shows’ characters and my original character making sure she stays out of the Marry Sue category. I also struggle with action scenes so any help there would be great. If you would like to help me please let me know. I’ve never done this before as I’m new to Fanfiction and this is my first ever story so please tell me how we should go about this process so that it works best for you.

On January 1, buffyversetop5 reopens for its 2010 session. Recs to any and all types of fan-created Buffyverse works are eligible so long as they were created or continued in 2010.

This year is going to be extra special because not only is it the 5 year anniversary of the Top 5 community but we will be achieving the 1000th rec post during this session.

I just posted at wip_out. I currently have 14 posted WIPs, 13 of which are in the Buffy fandom. How many does everyone else admit to?
