I have absolutely no idea if this is going to show up on the actual page i want it to show up on, but i'll try my damndest. I'm very into writing, mostly slam poetry, i've been writing since i started high school and continued past; i'm still writing now. I have lots of ideas but way too ADD to actually get it all written down. All i get is a vague idea that could be a kickass story but i never have the patience. Such a shame. But bleah, i digress. This community looked like a good place to get input and read other styles of writing, and possibly get some help with writing. Here's hoping.

Hello, I noticed I was the first to join the community. But anyway, my name is Rachael, I'm 15. I love writing, and I'm not too terribly bad at structuring and the like. But I have very few ideas that have potential to evolve into something good. So I was hoping I might learn something along those lines? Hi, my name is Mark and I am currently the maintainer of this community. If anyone is interested, my favorite authors are Neal Stephenson, and R.A. Salvatore.
Write to Learn was born out a desire to begin writing again. I used to pursue a lot of writing in school but it fell to the back burner. Since that time I've had all kinds of ideas just swirling around in my head, begging to be let out.
My vision for this community, is to create a place where everyone that wants to learn and improve their writing has a place to do so. I plan on doing this through a number of exercises that I currently have in mind. Some of these ideas include:
-Character development and criticism by individuals
-Character development and criticism by the community
-Short stories with a new community member in charge of each chapter.
-Short stories written by community members, which are centered around one plot or character(created by someone in the community).
These are just a few ideas and always open to interpretation. Other potential ideas could include, trying to get a community developed story or collection of short stories published or writing a screenplay. Please feel free to post any suggestions you would like to help enrich the community.
I will most likely be looking for at least another two moderators to help out and manage the community. I will be taking my time on the selection if needed, and will not respond to people asking to be a mod. The other major rule of this community is no spamming, this should be a given but I will reiterate it anyways. Anyone that is spamming will be dealt with on a case by case basis and dealt with in a swift manner. Please don't advertise other communities in here without clearing it with a mod. Failure to do so could result in a ban. These rules are meant to help enrich the community not detract from it.
