A forum designed to refine how we practice writing skills, using the Deliberate Practice method.
Welcome to Deliberate Practice, a forum designed to refine the way we "Practice" our writing skills.
Deliberate Practice is a term coined by researchers, which represents a method of organizing training routines to help people achieve outstanding performance goals. Our intention is to apply that method to improving writing skills .
If it sounds complicated, its not. This forum is a place to Post Work, Get Feedback, and Make Adjustments for re-evaluation.
It is that simple.
Deliberate Practice requires: A target specific goal, a measurable outcome, a feedback component, and is repeatable.
First we: Isolate the skill and set a target or context goal. Second, we set up criteria that identifies when we hit that target. This becomes our D.P goal. Third, write a passage using the writing skill described in our D.P Goal. Fourth, we evaluate the effectiveness of the passage in demonstrating the skill. Fifth, repeat.
Within this forum you will find topic pages and links, that will help our members get the most out of their writing practice and explain why we are using Deliberate Practice as a method to improve our writing skills.
Dedicated members and honest feedback is critical. With a strong community and open mindset for adjustments the sky's the limit. (or the top of the best sellers list)
