First, if you do still need to figure me out? I’m like 4890 posts in by now. If you don’t already know exactly who I am it’s probably because you stopped reading and just sometimes acknowledge I’ve posted a bunch of words surrounding a Boner’s Ark from 1974.
But in case you are reading but aren’t making hasty inferences about me. My recreational reading — both in print and in online stuff — has been pushing me to learn more about tensors, a mathematics construct that I somehow earned a mathematics PhD in without ever being formally instructed in and so what I mostly know is sometimes you have subscripts and sometimes you have superscripts and you can sometimes move a subscript to a superscript or back again and it means something, but whatever it is I think it is, it doesn’t mean that. So I guess I’m looking forward to getting through this and very briefly understanding what’s with the superscripts and subscripts already before I forget again.
(Also, sincerely: Robyn Arianrhod’s Vector: A Surprising Story of Space, Time, and Mathematical Transformation? Really good book. Strongly recommend although if you don’t already know there is such a thing called a “wedge product” there’s probably a lot you’ll just have to nod and skim through. Not saying you have to know what a wedge product is, just know that there is something by that name. If you’re past that hurdle it’s probably going to really change some thoughts you’ve had about quaternions.)
