Trippy adventures in WoW = cool story?

Last night, my night elf druid Kandrae (pictured here with a super-cute hat) became stuck somewhere in the game world, as she was getting off the boat from Darnassus to the Wetlands. She sort of disappeared (like she fell through the world), the graphics went all crazy, and I couldn't move her or do anything with her, though the mini map in the corner made it look like she was floating through other lands. She died, somehow, and her body ended up in Mulgore! Even the "unstuck" feature didn't work. So I paged a GM, went to bed, and this morning she was safely back on dry land at the graveyard in the Wetlands, not dead. It's still a little iffy doing anything with her that requires any kind of "warping," so to speak - she almost bugged out again this morning when I landed her gryphon in Stormwind.

As irritating as that was, I'm now inspired to write a story about her travels through the space-time continuum. For role-playing purposes, she's a teenager, abandoned at birth by her mother, who was raised by the Cenarion druids because her father was in the Emerald Dream when she was born. Maybe she could be like that guy on that show, "Journeyman," and use her time travels to discover her past. Oooooh. ;-)

Guild Contests

What would y'all think of doing some kind of a guild contest sometime? I have a couple of ideas:

- S3 Murder Mystery: Take a low-level alt out to an easily accessible area, like Elwynn or Westfall, kill him or her, and give clues as to where to find the body. Once you find the body, you have to figure out "whodunit!"

- Screenshot Contest - pretty self-explanatory, and we can do it for the funniest ones, the coolest ones, etc.

Prizes can include food, gold, booze, or vanity pets (things like cats, chickens or parrots). Just something fun for when we all get bored with questing. :)

Happiness is a shiny new mount

After pestering you guys for the last 9-1/2 levels, and a quest chain I thought would never end, my darling Arcy finally got her epic mount!!

Huge thanks to Balinsimba, Gardyn, Llawn (and Proudhammer), Timberbrudin and Wendygo for all the help! You guys are awesome!!

Character Backstories?

Does anyone have any backstories made up for their characters? We are on an RP server after all... and given all the time we spend with our toons... it might be kinda fun to make one up.

Here are some examples that I came up with for mine:

I've yet to come up with backstories for everyone else I have... Kandrae, Aracele, and my two Hordies, Escanaba and Oscoda. Does anyone else have any? :-)

(no subject)

Dear Shooters (all two of you who read this ;)

I'm thinking of putting together a website, since we have some new folks in the guild and it would be nice to know who's who, as far as alts and whatnot. I also thought about setting up some kind of an availability calendar, so we know the general times when we will be online and available to help each other out.

What do you think? Suggestions?

Also, for this website, I would want to get a group screenshot of as many Shooters in one place as possible... maybe one of the taverns in SW or some other central place, seeing as not all of the main group is able to get to Outlands yet. (I can try to Photoshop the rest in that can't make it, but the fewer I have to do that for, the better. ^_^) So we should look into setting that up sometime... pass the word along. :)

Probably the lamest fanfic ever written...

A World of Warcraft fanfic based on characters from the Shrimp Shack Shooters is coming soon!

Title: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Tabard

Tagline: Laugh. Laugh some more. Share the tabard.

Synopsis: Guild budgetary restrictions prevent Arcelia from getting individual guild tabards for each of her sisters-in-arms (Mercredie, Lundie, Kandrae and Aracele). She suggests that they share her existing tabard in one-month rotations, as a way to gain their identity in the guild, as well as a way to keep in touch with each other while they are scattered over Azeroth. When the sisters all meet to try on the tabard, they discover it has magical properties that makes it fit each wearer perfectly, from the tallest night elf to the tiniest gnome.

They each find that the tabard brings them varying degrees of good luck. Mercredie overcomes her shyness and finds new adventures with the Goldshire Players. Kandrae attends druid training camp in Moonglade and rises to the top of her class. Aracele stumbles upon a potent new recipe while training to become an alchemist. Lundie, a warlock who has gone through a number of incompatible minions, finally finds her perfect match. And Arcelia, the quirky paladin who owned the tabard but rarely wore it, is promoted to a guild officer.

It's been a while since I've written anything... so it's a start, anyways. And yes, I'm aware we're not an RP guild... but we are on an RP server, after all! ;-) Stay tuned!
